I remember Anderson Silva also has a very good move when he's backing out. He basically lean back, step his right leg back into Othordox stance and fire the right hand at the same time, it looks like a right jab but it's a right cross.

I have been waiting for this one a long while. EVERY UFC fighter knows how to fight while backing up. That was the entire problem first gen UFC fighters had; they constantly charged directly forward crashing into one another.

WB is So deserving and easily has the ability and skills to obtain and retain that title for a long time! Awesome channel. Keep up the amazing work!
@KungFool3 жыл бұрын
His stand-up skills certainly, but his takedown defense, while good, isn't enough with the top grapplers in the division, sadly. Would still love to see him vs Usman
@musclecarfanatic24043 жыл бұрын
@@KungFool I couldnt agree more. In a strict standup WB. But yes these top guys are take down experts from any angle and position. Well said. I very much agree with that statement!
@TristanBehrens3 жыл бұрын
@@KungFool I actually could see it benefitting him to move up or down, the grapplers aren't as numerous, nor as effective in MW or LW. Brunson could be an issue at MW but I think that's probably it, and at lightweight, as the bigger man, I think wonderboy takes it (that would probably be a grueling cut, though).
@danyalkhandakar65643 жыл бұрын
@@TristanBehrens there’s no way he makes lightweight, he’s said he walks around at 195-200 tops whilst already being leaned out. If he could put on 10 lbs or a bit under that tho it’d be real cool to see him at middleweight
@TristanBehrens3 жыл бұрын
@@danyalkhandakar6564 Fair enough, I didn't know he cut as much as that, although I did think LW would be a stretch.

Great video. We use the term critical distance line (CDL) when talking about distance measurement. I really like how even moving back you are still using your hip in the punch. We do a drill to measure CDL where a partner walks toward the student with a big pad and the student will kick or punch the bag and the immediately call out early, late, or on time as far as whether he or she got full power in the attack. We then step it up with the partner moving in at different speeds to help with the timing as well as the distance.

I am learning kick boxing and I always loved to do one thing with the kicks, neutralizing the round house kick(kick your opponent's shin in the side during swing) and connect it with a side kick to face...I have power, but lacking little speed. If I can improve the speed, I feel it could be a deadly counter and surprise attack. But that's just me

in basketball they talk about a 'negative step' (taking a small quick step in the opposite direction you want to move in) to be able to efficiently change direction. I wonder if that same terminology would work when it comes to planting on the reverse shuffle and collecting energy and using it to fire off

Love it! If I might make a suggestion for the person in Sweet T's position, or pad holder. Instead of bringing up the pad before you move forward, keep it up, and then suddenly move forward. Pull it up lets your puncher know your planning on coming forward and prepare. Where as I think if you leave it up before hand, it would be more representative of someone moving forward. Love you guys, watch all the time! Keep it up!
@Docinaplane3 жыл бұрын
I'm not disagreeing with you. I step back moving the front leg first, everything else is the same. Maybe it lets me get the front leg away from a leg kick. Maybe it allows me to step off angle quicker. I don't know. That's what I do. I've never been one to back up much. I think it's because I'm almost always the shorter fighter, and that lets them close the distance for me into my counter strikes. When I do come forward, I remind myself to account for their front hand because of people like you lol
