If you don't develop the art of ignoring, you will crash and burn as a mother.
Oh, yes, I believe in keeping a neat house, of doing things ahead, and of making life simple, but if you looked deep into my psyche and tried to learn the secrets of how I have handled life with my 15, homeschooled children, I think you may be a bit surprised to find that one of the best things I ever learned was how to ignore.

I needed this! My husband died unexpectedly in his sleep September 7th. He left nine kiddos behind, and we are just heartbroken. I needed this encouragement! Many don't understand what we are going through and expect more from us, and many times I do that with my children. Prayers, please, and thank-you for this video.

God bless you and all your children!!!!! The Holy Spirit is the counselor and Jesus is our Healer!!! I pray that you and your children receive God's embrace of love and comfort, His tight, heart to heart bear-God-hug! I pray that each one of you bring Him your tears, your pain, your broken heart, your anger, your disappointment, your shock, your broken heart, your shattered dreams, and I pray that each one of you receives complete HEALING and restoration, and that joy unspeakable and full of glory starts sparkling out of you again!!! In Jesus Name! Amen!

Praying for you Mama and babies. May Yah carry and comfort you during this time. 🙏❤️ I am a Mom of 9 and cannot imagine what you are going through. Our 12 yr old son died suddenly 2 years ago and I have experienced some grief and loss. I share this because Yah has been faithful to carry us through and comfort us along the way, even with my anger, frustration with the situation, and wanting to understand. He has been right there with me. Just take it one day at a time and feel free to be a hermit and allow yourself to grieve and let your children see you grieve. Also talking to someone who has gone through it and came out the other side has been very helpful. You can look them in the eye and they get it. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted to encourage you and to let you know that we are praying. ❤️🙏

I did these EXACT things with 5 children at home…nursing, cooking, homeschooling…. It was so tiring! BUT!!!! I did things on my own schedule. I NEVER let anyone steal my time away from my family❤️ Set boundaries!!!! Especially with church people ❤️

I was listening to this while putting in a load of laundry after a rough morning homeschooling my 9 yr old son. I had just thought “It feels so good to finally be getting something done!” As you were saying you ignore certain things to do more important things, that 9 yr old called out “Mom, are you still doing laundry? I want to snuggle with you.”So with your encouragement, after such a rough morning, I decided ignoring everything else and snuggling for a few minutes was the top priority. I just love how perfectly the timing worked out 😊

When we started attending our current church I was pregnant with my 4th. It didn’t take long and I was asked about volunteering. I wasn’t a member yet but I was “known” by many members because of things I did in the community. I said no and stated I would be willing to serve once our baby was a year old. I did say I would only serve in the nursery-pre-k age groups . I say no to most things because I spend 6 days a week serving my family & the community already.

Sherry, this was so encouraging! Sometimes people just don’t understand what it looks like practically to live out 1 Thess. 4:11 & Titus 2:5 because a lot of it is ignoring everything that pulls on you outside of the home and instead focusing on the work God has set before you at home with your family. We don’t get much credit for the unseen that goes on in our homes, but yet God sees it all and sustains and motivates us to continue to ignore all that doesn’t matter and keep our eyes on Him. Thank you for such a timely message today. Your podcasts, blog, channel etc bring me such comfort and motivation. 💜

This is similar advice to what i gave my expecting friend: don't let all the "things" steal you away from the baby! Because they will certainly try. Slow yourself down and use nursing as true bonding time--limiting (/eliminating) all distractions. Its such a fleeting season and time doesnt go backwards! Enjoy it ❤ Thanks for this wonderful video. Your voice is so soothing! God bless

Thank you! ❤ I’m due with my 4th in 2 months and know I’ll be needing to implement this more and more to find joy and peace and to hear the Lord with how He wants me to spend my time ❤ the funny thing is I feel like you can still get most things done anyway or even more than you would if you are being frantic or anxious
@MomDelights

This is so true! I have found over and over that being frantic about things keeps me from being efficient, and I end up wasting more time than when I trust and let God lead me in the moment (one step at a time).

Well, the Lord meant this for me. I unintentionally put other priorities before myself and my family. I enjoy serving so this is especially easy for me to fall into. People-pleasing used to be top priority for me, but I’m learning to abandon that habit over many years. Loved this episode… such an encouraging message for me. Thank you, Sherry ❤❤❤
