I'm practicing with the greatsword now. Which would you say is better, a greatsword thaat sometimes whiffs big damage, or a charge blade that does a bit less damage, but hits more consistently? I'm wondering if the occasional whiff is still worth the overall bigger damage.

Honestly just depends what you like more if you're more consistant with a weapon it'll have faster times regardless and the only thing that changes that is experience

I already defeat to this monster around like 22 mins. while I was helping my uncle to do that quest, no faint counts that I made, but with the "First Carry" I have because of my uncle, that's why.

What weapon has the best matchup for primordial? Is there any weapon that just kinda trivializes the fight?

I argue bow. Out of all the weapon I've used to do the Hazard Primordial Malzeno fight, I think bow has the easiest matchup versus him. The weapons I've used, for the record, are: Bow, HBG, LBG, DBs, CB, Swaxe, IG, Hammer. You don't even have to use Dodgebolt. if you are afraid of missing the 8 frame counter window for Dodgebolt, slap 1 Evade Extender on your set, grab a pierce dragon bow, and annihilate him. You can evade every single one of his attacks without i-frames with 1 EE on your Charging Sidesteps, and the larger critical distance window for pierce bows means you have a much larger area to be dealing effective damage in while zig zagging around all of his attacks. This is while Berserk makes it so you can't get one hit KO'd, and you normally play at a far enough distance with pierce that you can reliably swap scrolls if you do, somehow, manage to get tagged (and bow can maintain charge levels when scroll swapping if you hold ZR, so I will commonly shoot, scroll swap > dodge, shoot, scroll swap > dodge, shoot. Then continue dash dancing as per usual). My time on the Hazard: Primordial Pest quest is just shy of 3 minutes with bow, and I'm by no means a speedrunner. I imagine if I actually utilized Dodgebolt and played even tighter, I could hit 2:30 or less if I have good RNG where I can shoot clean through his body with pierce again. My second best time was with DBs at 3:30ish, and CB at 4~ minutes or so, but both DBs and CB were more stressful (DBs because Berserk in close range, CB because Dereliction+Strife is the set I run so the health drain + aggressive monster AI pressured my health constantly).

I realize this is an old comment, but the best match-up I've found for him is the Lance. Slap on Embolden 3 + Guard 5 and Guard Up 3 and there's basically nothing he can do to hurt you. I killed him for the first time using a Dragonheart set-up with 5 piece CG Valstrax + the CG Valstrax Lance and using that set, I could defeat him in about 10-15 minutes very comfortably. Not breaking records by any means, but even with no weapon augments or armor upgrades whatsoever I could defeat him very comfortably and reliably. The only attack in his moveset that could consistently catch me is the unblockable qurio lasers, but if you anticipate it well enough you can just Sheathing Retreat right over them and go back to poking.

How come you do as more damage to malzeno than I do but I have a maxed out set with max attack and augments including frostcraft?

Yeah, I've been comparing strong arm punishes and I consistently do 1400-1800 before breaking its head, but you do 1600-2200. What's weird is my uncharged attacks do way more than yours like nearly 3x as much, I'm also new to gs so I just hold the charge, not sure if there's a damage boost from manually letting it go

@@Pojijing I still haven’t gotten to Risen Shagaru yet. Idk if I will for a bit too much grinding for me and I got back into World again. But yeah so far, Primordial was the toughest for me in Sunbreak. Took about 9 failed quests to finally get a success LOL. Really the only monster that gave me any trouble. I still cart from time to time. I love that fight though
