Pretty simple: the combination of the terrain geometry in the zone and being very fast, bonus points for people not being aware of it (especially back in the day). It's funny to see how some people react, though, I saw someone yesterday trying to run away from it along the line of its path instead of getting out of the way, like a looney tunes character, and got flattened like one too.

What's even worse, the fucking thing was sneaky as hell. It played its sound at regular intervals and it if happened come upon you from behind in between that interval, SPLAT. Or even worse, if the sound played just as it had aggrod you and you had just enough time to regret everything.

Should've been there when the Fel Reaver was bugged in the original BC beta. It's model was replaced with a bear. You hear that roar, see the camera shake, looking around for a massive death machine, and suddenly you're one shot by Yogi.

Just yesterday I had the best encounter with it. His path was going through a narrow passage between a ridge down to the bottom of Hellfire Citadel on one side and a wall cliff on the other. I had a few horde players on a hunt behind me and the big guy in front of me right on that passageway. I had to choose my own death so naturally I aggroed the Reaver turn back and used my last seconds to /wave the oblivious horde players. They were so focused on me they didn't even noticed it before he blew his warhorm and I had the best laugh seeing them desperately trying to run away but it was way too late. It made a short work on all of us.

The people getting stepped on at the beginning? Totally unrealistic. They should have been able to hear the Reaver coming... and completely ignored it because they were too absorbed in whatever they were doing to notice the Reaver before it steps on them.
