You know where you said "You should have this information... it is pretty straight forward... you should know this information anyway..." (around 6:25). Well that's why I came here. I don't know this information. In fact I don't even know what the first line is talking about (Called up share capital not paid)? Where do I begin. I have monthly cash flow statements for 12 months (cash in, cash out) because that's all my business does. Where does one begin (without taking an accounting course) to not what all this means? Is there a video that explain all of these lines? Thanks

Great video. Very helpful. Thanks for sharing the value. I wish you continued to explain each item in the balance sheet because that's the most difficult part. For non-accountants, it's difficult to guess and I could never come across a single video on KZbin showing some details on each of those items, what they mean and where to get them. It would have been a complete guide if numbers were added to the balance sheet. Thanks very much!

Thanks Karim for your kind words. The reason I didn't go into more detail about each item on the balance sheet is because I'm not an accountant myself and I just wanted to give some helpful tips. I don't want to give too much specific advice as I'm not qualified to do so, and so in the video I've been careful not to go into too much detail about specific items in the actual accounts.

Many thanks Mike. Much appreciated. Yes, unless you have complicated figures, then it's really easy to do the accounts yourself for Companies House and you can save a fortune in accountants fees. (However, I always advise people to get professional advice if they are unsure about how much tax they need to pay to HMRC).

Hey, thank you for this superb video!! I wanted to ask you, I want to open a LLP, but on companies house on the File your company’s annual accounts I can see, that Limited Liability Partnerships cannot use this service - send your annual accounts DIRECTLY to companies house. So can’t I just do it online? Thank you!!!

Hello - to form an LLP you need to go to this site and use download the form - www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-a-limited-liability-partnership-ll-in01

If your company is still trading then just file your accounts with '0' (zero) in the relevant spaces. If you want to keep the company name at Companies House (but are not actually trading at the moment), then file your accounts in the section called 'Dormant Accounts' (this is really easy as there is virtually nothing to fill in). But before you do this, you need to contact Companies House and tell them that your company is now 'Dormant'.

That is the date that the company's Board of Directors or Company Accountant approve the accounts for submission to Companies House. If the company only consists of one person, then it is simply the date that you approve the accounts yourself!!
