Do you wear your nails like that? With different shapes on each one. That'd be cool if each had a different design. Hmm I might try that.

No as I mentioned in the video these are plastic tips I stuck on for the purpose of the shaping video. I removed them quickly after completing the video.

Thank you for the great tips! The only thing I would add is to make sure and use a glass nail file as this will make filing much easier and they come is lots of different grits. The good ones are usually made in Czech republic and will last you for thousands of hours of use, not to mention they are also tempered so they are super heavy duty. Another advantage of using glass files is that you can go back and forward on natural nails with them and it WON'T damage them like a regular nail file. I bought some from Amazon before but MyNailMakeover.com offers some of the best files in the market and they also provide a lifetime warranty which covers the files even if they break. I've been using their files for years and even bought some for gifts. Other glass files of lesser quality are still much better than using emery boards or metal files, but will eventually wear out therefore still having to replace them. I've done hundreds of manicures using glass files and I won't use anything else!

Nina Lights she's blended them in w a soft gritt file into the nail this is great to do to not only do the shape but blending the plastic only making it thinner all over. Ballerina is done at a 90%angle it's easier to do using the guide of your finger tip.this is time consuming rather than using straight edged clippers taking off the edges speeding up the process. U can't really file clients nails this way but gives you a lot of info about the various shapes. She's an experienced nail tech. Practice makes perfect even for the best they still practice.

My problem is I like squoval, but the way I file them makes them break as they grow out. when I do the sidewalls, I somehow make a divot in them.
@Mybeautyden8 жыл бұрын
Try holding your file straight up not on an angle, i used to do same. Its how you hold the file and need to come straight out from side wall then shape not shape from where you get the divot where the divot is it is still straight there. Not sure if that makes sense but try holding file different.

@NonaPhilippa9 жыл бұрын

NonaPhilippa Oh dear, I figured that might be the case seeing as it made light work of those tips. I want to find the perfect file for taking down length quickly whilst sealing. At the moment I use the Leighton Deny glass file and Boots Smoothing file but I'd like a super quick solution.
