Suzie! You should do a "nails through the decades" series. It would involve recreating nail styles from the past to the present (maybe 1920s-2020s)! I'd especially love to see your take on the '80s, which you know so well ;)

IKR, I am five months in a far better off than I was for 8 years, of course a lot of it was also being iron and b12 anemic so I couldn’t remember much, but now I’m gluten free I can actually make more sense of everything I learn here, and Susie is the most positive, gracious, and easy to follow teacher. Although many others are good, not all are good teachers, and she is definitely a good teacher.

Suzie, I just became a nail instructor, here in Las Vegas. I just got my first class last Friday. We zoom M-T and in class W-Th. My students have expressed the desire to learn how to to different shapes. I'm the 4th out of the 6 instructors that they will have. I will definitely be showing them this. I have a curriculum to follow and it doesn't include filing, but as long as they get what they are supposed to, I have free reign. Thank you💜

I wish techs at the nail salon would draw on my nails when I want something other than a usual square! I wouldn't mind since it would provide a visual guide for the tech and me when it comes to how I want my nails shaped but it's probably seen as unprofessional/amateurish. The trouble is my coffin nails never come out looking the way I want them and I have to end up filing them myself to fix them, which I shouldn't have to do after paying for a pro to do them.
@91frankthetank2 жыл бұрын
@@DarlingNikki2 you should tell your nail tech. If it's a good shop, they're very open to you getting exactly what you want. Bring picture references. After they shape one, take a look and ask for what you want. You're paying good money. You should get what you want.

Thank you Suzie! I love that you actually drew them! Will definitely try it like that for more accuracy until I get the hang of it! I have natural nails so some these tips help a lot other than the type of file! I've always tried to do a coffin/tapered square when my nails are shorter because a plain square always looked flaring up to me but whenever I tried it, I always take off one end more than the other and I didn't know what I was doing wrong haha. This was suuper helpful.

YES, coffin is my favorite! One thing that’s been on my mind lately are the trending coffin nails on IG - they look to be rather flat (as in minimal to no c-curve), yet have a very distinct, crisp shape. If I had to guess, they are probably achieved with tips. I personally prefer mine to look like yours, but clients often find it hard to resist the Instagram shaping.

I just recieved my new lamp the other day! After watching your video about lamps and gel compatibility, I realized that the majority of my gel polishes and all my poly gels are Madam Glam, so I finally ordered a lamp from them. While I was waiting on it to arrive, my new manicure started to come apart! The poly gel/builder gel lifted from my natural nails, which still has a very thin layer of old poly gel on them. I had just finished building my nails 4 days prior to them lifting. I haven't rebuilt my nails yet, but I have removed all the lifted product, and shortened my nails as they are very brittle(which is why I keep either poly gel or builder gel on them). I'll use the new lamp with clear poly gel this weekend, and build new nails now that my natural nails are short, AND I have a proper lamp to use with the product.
