Wouldn't you use some pva in the chase first? Just for a belts and braces job, ensure the bonding doesn't fall out later. Get some pva and water, 1:3, brush that all in to the chase and over the conduit/capping and then put bonding over it. It acts as a bonding agent and allows the bonding to adhere better. None the less good advice about leaving extra on there to easily sand back and paint 👍

I dont see the point in the oval conduit. It wont stop a nail going through the cable and good luck trying to pull a cable out of that conduit in the future to rewire. The only use for that oval conduit will be to stop plasterers hitting the cable with a trowel but since you are filling the chases ypurself carefully I see no point. It looks neat thoguh

You’ll end up with 2 hairline cracks either side all the way up if it’s on a dry lined wall (needs a scrim tape on it to prevent cracks).

Often if doing a room maybe but the small parts if know or got the paint often would paint over small area it is, from wall I think the wall not been painted as looks like still just plaster

Mate that’s not acceptable I wouldn’t be paid for that, the chase needs a paper tape because as the blocks move with the seasons it’ll crack down the gypsum of the board. We never multifinish dot and dab over celcons either because of the movement, some people say just caulk the internals but it’s difficult for the decorator to get a decent cut line so we always joint a paper tape giving a nearly 90 degree square internal 👍 this isn’t a dig, none of us like going back to a job for free especially when carons hid the kettle!

All it needed was foam and either filler or skim, the foam prevents movement hence cracks, and you cut it back enough to get a couple of mm skim in the chase. 7 times out of 10 the chase will crack and as soon as you add tape of any kind, you end up creating a bump on the wall, regardless of how far you spread it out

@@NiktheEnglishGreekCypriot the house is tape and jointed, so why isn’t there cracks everywhere 🤔🫣😂 foams alright but but when you cut it back it leaves like a fluff so when you sand it down you see these little hairs poking out
