I'm really late to this video, but THANK YOU for the tip on turning my fountain pen upside down to achieve finer lines. I would have never thought to do that. I have a Lamy Safari, too, so the grip shape makes the upside down method a bit awkward is all. But super handy. Thank you for sharing that.

hi koosje, lamy also have 3 calligraphy nib options, 1.1, 1.5 and 1.9. i have a few lamy pens and they all write very nicely. also, the calligraphy nibs have no tipping so you can get great line variation depending on your line dirrection. but they are at their best when writing ;) neil

What type of sketchbook do you prefer using? I hadn't thought about drawing with a fountain pen, but I've been getting into using ink in combination with watercolours, and I have some old bruynzeel fountain pens that I wasn't using so I'll try it out! And now I'm thinking about watercolour sketchbooks and what type of paper would be good for this combination. (I also draw in pencil and I like using mixed media.)

I’m trying speedball India ink in my Lamy safari and it’s causing me frustration as it stops flowing. Is there a solution? It seems to dry quickly on the nib and I have to wet it to get it to flow again. Tips?

I use Rohrer & Klingner Sketch ink in my Lamy because it's also waterproof and dries fast. If I don't use it for a few weeks though the ink dries up at the end of the nib and needs to be reactivated. Do you have any tips for this? If I dip it in water it reactivates right away but then the ink is watery for a bit. If anyone has any tips, I'd be happy to hear. Thank you! :)

Same problem here! Then the ink starts flowing and then stops and I don't know what to do, do you need to twist the converter every time this happens? I'm so frustrated! 😞
