This is great! I've been shooting everything 4K but I honestly don't think people care! Dropping down to 1080p for KZbin and then recomposing for TikTok may be the answer I was looking for. So simple but so brilliant. Thank you!

The reason to shoot on 4K is that it gives you better results if you blow up the image. You can output your final edit to 1080 for uploading to those SM sites...

Why can't cameras just do this automatedly? My tech solution. No matter how you hold the phone it always films horizontally and you can just save it as a crop to vertical. Ppl watching on a pc can see and enjoy everything, ppl watching on a phone sees the vertical or horizontal video depending on how they hold the phone? all problems solved. Vertical video on youtube and other not vertical platform really grinds my gears !

True, but you could have released this video also in vertical format, there is no reason to only release horizontal videos on KZbin.

All phone cameras should shoot in vertical and horizontal automatically, each and every time without special settings. There are few things more annoying than vertical videos played on computer and tv screens!!!
