The hardest part I have about vlogging is sometimes I feel like I don't have time to set up the perfect shot, because I want to be in the moment with my friends. I have tried to get the perfect clip of me eating, only to realize I'm more focused on the shot than actually being present at dinner with my partner.
@b.knotty7 ай бұрын
I hate being home and having to reheat my food from me trying to get the “just right” (I don’t do “perfect”) shot 😂.. Ima foodie so I love seeing the location, menu, what you ordered and I like to hear thoughts on the experience and if it was good or not. Your partner is a human tripod lol.. Before going to dinner (to mentally prepare them lol) ask your partner to get a couple shots of you while at the restaurant (you can even practice beforehand lol).. shots of like either behind you walking to seat or from the front you walking to table or if you guys hold hands while walking, while waiting for food ask your partner to record 10-15 seconds of you from where they are sitting or mid way through the meal or towards the end..if you can’t prop your camera or phone up. Just communicate and time it right lol. I just watched your Seattle comic con vlog and I was like okaaaaaay 💁🏾♀️ lol. Stay creative Queen✨

I feel the same way! Sometimes I think a trip would make a great vlog but then I don't end up filming anything because I feel like it takes me out of the moment. Especially if I'm with another person, I would rather enjoy the moment with them and it can feel a bit rude sometimes to be pulling out a camera. That's why I'm not so sure I would want to ask my friend or partner to film me as b.knotty suggested; I'm sure they would be happy to, but I worry that the moment might feel more like a production or manufactured moment than an interaction that I want to enjoy with another person.

One thing I've learned as a "Vlogger" myself.... it's almost NEVER perfect, but this is the reason why vlogs are so important to the platform!! It's the closest thing for viewers to real life on KZbin... you got this, keep goin!! #VloggersUnite 🤗

to quote one of my film school instructors, a lot can be visually forgiven (aka it doesn't matter what you film on) if you have really good sound! there's so much possibility when using sound to enhance short films, vlogs, etc. and i love doing it

Seriously, great input. I know the chances are you'll never see this but your comments during the filming segment about the technical aspects involved was so genuine. As a newer photographer / videographer, I also struggle with this and will likely continue to do so as I begin a vlogging journey. It's really refreshing to hear others express these thoughts in truce as it can really feel like everyone else just... "knows" what they're doing. Lovely video and great tips!
