@@RachelfGuitar Always smiling with a little help from mary…. Maryjane that is 💨 You Rock!!!

I am 70 yrs. old and have dealt with ADHD all my life. Which means if something doesn't hold my attention it will seek something it does. You my dear hold my attention. Everything just seems to make sense the way you say it. So, and you may learn to regret this, you will be my instructor for all the stuff I never really understood. I also agree with norris17 about you always are smiling. I watched your odyssey of learning to play and you are exactly opposite from me your learning seemed to build on the previous lessons you learned. With me nothing makes sense and then I'll do something and after months of frustration it all coalesces and while tactilely it takes a bit longer, but I have the concept and how it works out so I have a direction. So thank you for this. P.S. I also have dealt with Bi-Polar 2 my whole life. It is the rapid cycling form of Manic Depression. This has been so much fun because it is so gypsy by nature here one moment, gone the next, then back again. It is so hard to predict you almost have to be able to recognize it on the fly. My life has been one big pile of fun. O.K. I'll quit now.

Wow. Thanks for this comment David. Seeing you in this age, and me at mine (23) having almost the same conditions, ADHD, depression. It gives me a drive force to continue. I often feel this dread of time, has if I'm to old for this stuff that I always wanted to do, but get caught up in life and losing all this time. Anyway, thank you for the inspiration, truly.

You’ve explained this rather well Rachelf. Fun fact: B# and E# do exist, and the same for Cb and Fb. They’re not as common, but E# is in the key of F# Major, and again with B# in C# major. Cb is in Gb Major, and again with Fb in Cb major. Would I be right in assuming you wanted to hold off so as not to overwhelm your viewers? Also, I can’t wait for part two.

i’ve been playing since january, so i have learned the fretboard a decent amount, but i wanted to check in and make sure i have a good grasp on the basics. the way you explain is very clear and easy to follow, it helped affirm my understanding and i’m sure will be really helpful to anyone just starting out! i know a couple patterns to navigate with but i know there are more i could be using, so i’m excited for the next video :)

Exceptional and personable explanation. I'm a beginner guitar player (and diggin' it the most too) and seen several other fretboard explanations...None nearly as clear as yours. Thanks! I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to more guitar knowledge.

That was awesome! I've been playing guitar and bass for almost 10 years now and you nailed the explanation of the fret board in minutes! Great job! Its hard to put it into words for some of us who also want to share the concepts to those who don't understand it and get scared at the number of frets there are. Keep up the great practicing. I could see in the video when you started to move your facial muscles around as you are getting into the groove! That's a sign when you know its taken over your body and soul! :) Pick a string and smile a million smiles!!

Very well thought out. Good script as well. Impressed, is a word I would use to describe how I feel after watching the video. Even though it’s a simple concept, utilizing then mastering all the notes on the guitar. It’s an incredibly disciplined act to truly master all the notes and is just badass. Thank you for taking time to make this great video. I hope to see more of you and how creative you can become in terms of filming, research, people(friends to film with), giving back when you have enough to give back and still have enough to create the videos that you wanna create. I love all, everyone be well.

Another way too look at it is all the note on the low E string correlate to the key signature of the note it’s self. Example: at the D note on the low E the D power chord or Dm power chord can be played as well as the Dm pentatonic scale First position. I think I explained that correctly hopefully. Im more familiar with the minor key signatures than I am with the major one but generally they both start at the root. Obviously different finger patterns. Hopefully that wasn’t confusing. My apologies if so…
