@SAYPhysics11 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Yes, the procedure for finding the area under the curve remains the same, regardless of the specific broadband spectrum, such as a Raman spectrum of glass. The method I outlined can be applied universally to determine the area under curves in various contexts.

Can we calculate AUC for line graph using same method as shown in video?
@SAYPhysics Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is possible to calculate the area under a straight line. The area under a straight line is simply the area of a rectangle, and you can calculate it by multiplying the length of the line (base) by its height (the distance between the line and the x-axis). The formula for this is: Area = Length × Height So, for a straight line, the area under the curve is straightforward to calculate. Thanks

thanks for your professor. I have emailed you my solutions of AUC and the raw data which I used. Can you check and let me know if I had done it coreectly, please.@@SAYPhysics

when i use this method and other method for finding the area, it gives two different values. The other method is executed by using the integrate option under gadgets. Any comments on this?
@SAYPhysics Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! It's not uncommon to get slightly different area values when using different methods to calculate the area under a curve. In the video, I demonstrated one specific method using OriginLab. The "integrate" option under gadgets likely uses a different approach, which can lead to slight variations in the results. The precision and algorithms can differ between methods. If you need precise results, it's good to understand the specific algorithms used in each method and how they handle calculations. Feel free to share more details if you'd like to discuss this further!

How is the area LESS than the peak height?
@SAYPhysics10 ай бұрын
Area under a curve represents the total accumulation of values within that region, not just the peak height. In some cases, the area under the curve may be less than the peak height because the curve descends rapidly after reaching its peak, resulting in a smaller total area. Additionally, the shape of the curve and its distribution of values play a significant role in determining the area under the curve. Thanks

How to calculate volume?
@SAYPhysics2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! In 2D, you can only calculate the area under the curve. To calculate the volume, you would need a 3D dataset. OriginLab has tools that can help you perform volume calculations for 3D surfaces. You can use the 'Volume of Surface' tool under the 'Analysis' menu for this purpose.
