This was great! I loved the metal with the vacuum scene. I've been working on a custom exhaust for my 1936 Chevy truck with a 5.3 LS. Headers have been a nightmare and my old timer buddy said dump tranny oil down the carb and find the smoke. After about a gallon, my neighbors are annoyed and I have a guilty conscience. I thought about this but was thinking it wouldn't build pressure due to valves being open. I'm sure EFI throttle bodies seal better than carbs. If that's a problem I'll seal off the carb. Easy enough. Going to do this to find a vacuum leak too. Thanks man

Smoke is most likely way easier.. You can use a 99 cent cigar and hose. Spray bottle doesn't reach all of the hidden areas. Smoke will find its way through without having to crawl around.

@@raniaafg4753 Ticking is a classical exhaust leak by the ball and socket/header area etc, know what you mean by the CV joint balljoint but i think most people call it exhaust tick is because you accelerate and that leak goes pah pah pah pah pah and it kinda makes a ticking sound,i had a old H pipe on my Mustang that was leaking and i could have sworn it was a lifter ticking every time but thank god it wasn't.

On the manifold itself? Ehh it can cause you to build up some nasty scorched shit inside your cylinders I think? But I’ve drove cars with open headers and bad manifold leaks before for a few months, you’ll notice an extreme lack of power and people will look at you funny 😂 but it’s not anything that should immediately damage your car but with that being said it still needs repaired AS SOON AS YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET IT DONE

Possible leaking heater core if smell is coolant'y, if not you have a stuck-open engine bay louver vent and possible manifold issue. Can you shut the louver? My Suzuki Grand Vitara had electric louver that malfunctioned in the stuck open posiiton which I dont think is good because it allowed humidity ingress into the cabin.
