As far as I know - humming is wheel bearing, driveshaft is more about clicking.

@@wawayltd Can driveshaft make knocking noise on smaller, sharp holes? I have audi a6 c6 avant, same as u had in older videos just avant. I have changed all arms, engine mount and knocking is still there. On consecutive holes it will be quite loud and shaky, almost gives me impression that car will fall apart. It also kinda clicks when breaking with wheel slighlty turned. But I cant notice any other symptoms.

In my experience, anti-roll bar links can make a lot of noise when driving over bumps. Could be also driveshaft.. I can only guess. Driveshaft makes clicking when driving. It may get louder when turning opposite direction of a bad driveshaft when more weight goes onto it. I don't know... Last few years I drive Octavias, and these things don't want to have any problems with suspension, so I forgot what it's like 😏

@wawayltd I read some people had issues with some retainer being worn off on brake pads and that would cause play in them and therefor knocking noise on vibrations. I tried now going in neutral and focusing on braking when going over bumpy roads and it seems like it doesn't knock. I'll check pads tomorrow. Another thing I noticed is quite kinda squeak just before I'm fully stopped, sometimes accompanied with slight click if the wheel is turned sideways to any direction. Not sure what that could be..

If one clicks and you don't have a split boot, I recommend just replacing both.

Would driveshafts cause pulling I have changed steering rack arms bushes tie rods droplinks coils springs etc and still have something clunk intermittently and pulls to left constantly even after tracking multiple times

I'm not as clever as I may look in my videos 😁 From my experience, driveshaft can make clunk, as for pulling, when I had trouble with aligning - it was due to bad rack, but as I see you have replaced quite a few bits on your car. Not sure how to help you there, sorry.

VW Sharan. I had occasional knocking moving off and hard braking. Inner (gearbox side) cv joint. Replaced. Didn't make a video, sorry. Replaced with a cheap rubbish one, already got proper replacement. Might make a video next time, however there's plenty of that here on KZbin.

@@wawayltd i have VW Touran dsg and it's making clunking noise when turning and accelerating in slow speeds. It just clunks once not continually so i think its inner cv also. Did you also have vibration when accelerating in speeds above 130 km/h?

Yes, I did have vibration when accelerating or going up the hill. What you describing looks very similar to what I had. I never had bad outer CV joint, so I wouldn't be able to describe symptoms. Please make sure that you know which one is faulty, so you don't waste your money on a wrong one.

Yes it can fall. If it breaks completely, the car would not move, because of differential.

What is the loud click click noise when you are turning off the engine? Is it the dmf? I have the same noise and not able to diagnose

Probably, you mean the sound of intake flap opening and closing twice...

I mean the sound at 1:34 to 1:36 time stamp. The loud tak tak tak tak noise( 4 times)

That's probably changing gear back to neutral and then a few clicks of intake flap as the engine shuts down. Signs of a bad dmf - it gets noisy (rattling noise) while the engine on idle and noise goes away as you press clutch pedal, and as it gets worse - rough moving off.

There is nothing wrong with the clicks. This is how it meant to be. When diesel engine shuts down intake flap closes to prevent runaway. In some engines (like we have) it closes and opens twice.

Not sure which inner joint is failing on mine. Does wobble slightly when accelerating hard in higher gears.

Mine did wobble too, when accelerating especially up the hill. Then in started knocking when moving off.

If you know for sure that is inner, use the method from this video. Problem joint will have a noise. If you know the side, but don't know if it's inner or outer... I don't know for sure, I never had faulty outer joint. My friend did. It gets noisier crunchier when you turn steering all the way to the side - that's for outer joint.

@@wawayltd i know its inner, had same issue 2 years ago and fitted gsp new driveshaft and problem went. Now issue came back so not sure if the new failing or the one that didnt get changed last time

I know, you can buy another car for that 😏 You don't have to go for whole driveshaft, quite often replacing just joint will do.
