Honda screws are JIS What is the difference between Jis and Phillips? Similar to the Phillips®, the Japanese cross-point drivers also have the self-centering and quick tool and screw engagement. However, the key difference is that the “JIS” (Japanese Industrial Standard) design allowed torque and over-tightening to be controlled by the operator - not at the head of the screw. This is why people strip out higher TQ screes on honda motorbike, Dont use Philips if its tight.

Hello mate, thanks for watching. Your information is correct to a certain degree and it is certainly most interesting and I am sure not many people will know this so thank you for sharing. - However, for the purpose of this video, I did not feel that this much technical information is required At the centre of the cross(+) JIS screw will have a less round interior cross-point, JIS also have self-centring. However, the JIS design allowed torque and over-tightening to be controlled by the user/operator not at the head of the systematic of the screw type. Some of JIS drive screws may have a dot mark on its head to distinguish its own standard from others, but not all of them are going to have a mark. It seems to be difficult to notice. JIS drive head size will be defined as #1, #2, #3 or #... Those products may be Japanese appliances, motorcycles, equipment, or machines. They are likely to have a JIS screw assembled with them. This is just an assumption, not all of Japanese manufacturer will assemble JIS screw into their products. So please be careful.
