S. B. On the left side of your bike underneath the logo there is a plastic black covering. That’s your air filter. You need to remove all the screws and the cover should pop right off. In there you’ll see a little hole like a small tunnel, just like he shows in this video. Your carb is in there so that’s where you spray.

Hello, my scooter been sitting for a couple months and when i turn on ignition there is no sound coming from the fuel pump do you have any idea what the problem could be ? Thank you
@ieatcheetos20463 жыл бұрын
@@vasiledintrebile2308 I'd check the wiring to the pump first, maybe even tap it with a mallet a couple times, and send seafoam thru it too, pumps can get gunked up with old bad gas. Maybe check your gas filter too? They can clog and mess with the whole system. But with it not sitting long, my first guess would be it got chewed on, or it got wet and might be rusting over on a connection or ground. Definitely check wiring first.

You are my HERO!! I don't often play mechanic with my scoots, but I have a 2008 Genuine Buddy 50 that would not start as it has been sitting WAY TOO MUCH the past two years while I spent most of my time on the 170i...and my bicycles! I watched this video and having already replaced the battery, which didn't get it to start, I bought a new plug and some carb cleaner and did exactly like you described, except mine needed much more than 3 puffs and multiple sits and waits after shooting the cleaner in there. BUT, finally, this afternoon, on my 5th try, it started!!! I was afraid to turn it off, so I threw on a helmet and rode it around for quite a bit, including to the station to air the tires first. HOPEFULLY, she will start up again tomorrow...and within a few days I can gas her up fresh and put her back in play more regularly...or sell her so she gets more time on the road! Last Fall, I watched a different video after my speedo stopped working on the 170i, and I took her apart up top and got it reconnected! Works like a charm again. These video tutorials are lifesavers!!!

Put a new starter relay on and cleaned starter switch button and got new battery. Battery drains fast. Storage Light is disconnected. We don’t have carburetor so don’t know how to check fuel injectors. At least we went from no sound at all to that turn over sound. Worked fine when bought the bike on Sept 4. Todd a few times, then nothing. Krr we or trying every day and about a week later, started right up. Turned off and on several times and rode a couple blocks again. That was few weeks ago. Has not started since. At least now, it turns over but does not start. Sparks too. Lights work, kickstand up, brake grid tightly. Checked electrical supply with meter. Kinda out of ideas.

I would recommend NGK spark plugs only for 4 stroke engines, but not for 2 stroke engines. If the NGK spark plug gets wet in a 2 stroke engine due to a no start, the isolation material around the center electrode gets conductive very soon. So the spark plug fires "within" the spark plug and the engine would not start. If the spark plug is *really* dry again, it will work again. It took me a while to figure that out. Since then, I've only used spark plugs from Bosch for two-stroke engines. They will fire between the center- and the ground electrode even when they are wet.

@@omarihassan8345 the fuel and oil spill could have just been from the crash. As long as your fuel lines aren't damaged. The scooter should start after sitting a few days. It might smoke for a little bit but it will go away. Oil probably filled the airbox along with gas from being on its side.

I have a Kymco People 50cc and I have tried absolutely EVERYTHING. I’ve checked the spark plug and it had no fouling. It was basically brand new. I checked the valves and compression, and it was perfect. I checked the air fuel screw on the carb by turning one half turn right from factory position(no start), then turned it one full turn left from factory position(no start). I then turned it back to factory position by 1/2 turn right again(no start). I siphoned the fuel out and put new fuel in to make sure there was absolutely nothing wrong with the gas. I made sure the fuel pump did its thing(yes, Kymco 50cc’s have a fuel pump). Basically, I am at a loss. There is absolutely NO reason for it not to turn over. Nothings clogged. Nothings fouled out. Compression is good, so there’s no leaks at the valves or head. There’s oil in it. Gas is good. It gets spark. Battery is good(running a little high at 13 volts tho). Starter turns. Keys aren’t chipped, so there’s no automatic lockout that’s key specific. Basically, it’s an $1,100.x Facebook marketplace mess. I may just swap the engine. For now I’ll just continue to drive my Honda XR150L if I want to have some fun. The Kymco is just gonna have to wait.

Very good video, I've got a question what if it will not start only when it's cold? My choke seems to be working normal too
@Scooter_9113 жыл бұрын
How did you check the auto choke? And you might need a valve adjustment or your stator might possibly be weak

Hello, my scooter been sitting for a couple months and when i turn on ignition there is no sound coming from the fuel pump do you have any idea what the problem could be ? Thank you
@gregor.potrebujes2 жыл бұрын
very informative presentation :) since my scooter totally failed the compression test (15 psi) it's probably a compression problem, even though I replaced the cylinder and the piston + rings. I guess I'll finally have to take the engine off and find the leak. A lot of work, since I never did it before... but I guess I'm gonna learn something...

@@Scooter_911 Yeah haha. Its a 1984 Honda Aero that I swapped a 1984 honda CH125 engine into. I used your cool method where you use the pliers on the starter relay and it got the engine to crank! I was wondering if its bad for it to always start this way though because whenever I do it you can smell it and there's tons of sparks.

Great instructional vide. You should be teaching at my local community college.

I learned that my ground wire might have come loose. Of course, it was after 9 p.m. in the single most remote lake town in South Carolina, but lucky for me, my 50 cc moped died across the street from a pool hall where, you guessed it, I was fortunate enough to find a guy who'd spent 20 years selling and servicing Chinese mopeds. Unfortunate for me, I nor anyone including the great moped dealer guy had a tool bag. So, there I was, in mid-December loaded down with groceries stuffed in every available compartment of my Xpro moped. The moped prince noted that because it wasn't cranking after only 350 miles indicated a likely dislodged ground wire, which of course is located atop the engine that's contained under the seat. But while the Moped Prince from Summerville (good size town with every possible convenience located about 35 miles southwest) was checking my moped, he could sense the engine was turning (a mystery given I don't know how), but it wasn't sparking and given the utter deadness indicates it's the ground wire. Meanwhile, I wish I'd had my notepad, because what I learned from this gentlemen in 10 minutes will probably help me prevent problems that, first, would be to adjust the valves, or something that he said maintains proper combustion. As for now, I must get back to the pool hall with some tools so I can start my moped and get it home so I can perform the recommended maintenance. So, please do a program on that first valve/combustion adjustment that Mr. Wonderful Moped Man had said is necessary after the first 200 miles. Because, he mentioned a certain tool that I'd never heard of, and didn't have anything to record what he explained, but I know it is important. Meanwhile, I'd noted the cheesy terminal covers that are flimsy plastic, which I feel compelled to replace along with the very cheap battery terminals. I get the idea that most automobile, motorcycle, scooter and moped maker all cheap out on these elements, including Volvo, I'm told by a Volvo employee attending a pool tournament in Eutawville, a lonely, rather lawless lakeside outpost that's no place for an aging, single, and completely alone person to live. (E-gad!)

@Scooter_9114 жыл бұрын
Oh man that's a pretty good idea. Usually backfires are a result of a leak in the exhaust pipe. Either from a bad exhaust gasket or a hole in the exhaust! Thanks for the idea!
