I switched to Active Captain after getting the 93sv, but they both seem to be way off on most of the lakes I use.

Some Laker are off for some reason. The larger lakes should be good.

I use avionics, almost exclusively on bigger lakes like winnipesaukee and squam. More accurate than smaller ponds

Some great instruction here. Thank you for posting these. I'm going to try out your tips in upstate NY in a couple weeks. I haven't landed my first lake trout yet, but hoping to this trip. I'll check out the Bend It Baits.

once you learn how to identify spots and make a plan to fish them and it works out its the best feeling ever. Whenever I teach a friend how to target lakers Im big on teaching how to find them. I always love hearing of their first successful solo trip! good video man

I’m heading up to Sebago with family next week. Rented a pontoon boat from point Sebago. My son really wants to catch a laker. Any suggested spots /locations to try without fish finder? Great videos! Thanks

If you are trolling try right in front of the songo river. Or just look where the rest of the boats are. If you are jigging use the navionics app to find humps. Good luck

It's been many years since I ate a lakers. So an 18" inch fish and a 25-30 inch fish. Which is better to eat? The last laker I got was about 20 ish seems so, through the ice. Tasted very good, loved it! I would think that the bigger the fish you would have more of an oily fishy taste?? Right now my boat is at the shop. etec 25 I hate it. every year it needs to be worked on!
@BendItFishing5 ай бұрын
The smaller ones are always better and have less fat in them which makes them taste fishy. I had issues with my etec too, now I'm running a tohatsu

@@BendItFishing Ha every year for the past 4 years it is in the shop for a bunch of different things! This year it will only run for 5 mins then quite. Hard starting after and and sounds like it would only run on one cylinder after it starts to get warm! I bought an old 1979 johnson 35hp. But now that has issues on the motor stand. Wires were all old and cracked so I replaced them one by one. Go figure it now has no spark!

@quaileggsvermont dang, and finding good shops to work on them is tough

@@BendItFishing I don't know if you know Kevin at Boat Headquarters, He is the closest to me. He is very busy and he said 2 weeks 2 weeks ago! So I am in hopes they can get it in soon! They know the motor and have worked on it every year! I hope it's well under 1K to fix it this time. I will be selling it with all the paperwork on it! I have not put many hrs on the thing! Bought it used with still a guarantee. Thinking them it was 14 hrs on the motor?? I bet I have not put on 20 hr on it! Still in the braking in time! LOL
