Very useful video. Thanks. For those that don't get 1,4,5, those numbers are the location of major chords and 2,3,6 are the location of minor chords in a Major Scale. Example: in C major scale (CDEFGAB = 123456), C=1 (C Mjor chord), D=2 (D min chord), E=3 (E min chord), F=4 (F Major chord), G=5 (G Major chord), A=6 (A min chord), and B=6 (B Diminished Chord). Hope this adds to the helpfulness of this great video.

I've been taking lessons for 6 years and I'm sure "It's only because of that" I was able to, finally understand completely. I think you have to FIRST understand "bar chord logic"....that is, understanding how to chord a 1,4,5 on both the 6th string and the 5th string.GREAT LESSON but I think it should be in the "intermediate" category. However, you explained yourself very well. THANKS SO MUCH

I've been a subscriber for a while, and I am honestly shocked that you don't get more views. I don't even play the genres of music that you usually teach and I only play your finger style arrangements for the challenge, but your lessons and advice are so solid that you are easily among my favorite online teachers. It is too bad that you don't seem to reach a wider audience.

Excellent explanation. I've been playing forever and still get it mixed up, the rule of 3 frets up or down helps. I dig the little dog in the background watching and listening intently. I notice the Takamine, I just spent about 400 bucks to have one that I bought new and cheap set up, and the tuners replaced with adult tuners. Mine were that black plastic and they kept breaking. Yours has adult tuners. Peace.
