Condition applies: ie first , functions should be continuous at a given point this is where most children make mistakes that take derivative instantly without checking it and fall in trap . 2) function can be continuous but ain't always differentiable for example of | Six -Cos (elnx)^3| , some sharp age areas in corners aren't differentiable at certain points / intervals .. There are other conditions too I will write if I remember it.. This guy just differentiated without checking this

Why does other y sub 1 do not satisfy the equation? Both x and y are given. When I tried to substitute the x sub 1 to the equation, it is not equal to the y sub 1.

It's not, 2(2x) is the derivative of 2x^2 because you bring the 2 in front and then subtract one from the exponent, so it becomes 2(2x)^(2-1) -> 2(2x)^1 -> 2(2x)

I don't think so...cause then the number you multiply 0 by will be 0 e.g. f'(7)=8 - 2(0)=8 instead of -6....but maybe I will work for a Quadratic equation

Uhm What if the value of x is negative. What will gonna happen in the denominator of getting the m(slope). The formula of the denominator is x-x0. For example is x=-1 It will be x-(-1) Or it will be just x-1? That's the most difficult for me especially in my book, it doesn't have an example that have the x value of -1. I need help!!!
