How to find the missing length of a leg of a right triangle

👉 Learn about the special right triangles. A special right triangle is a right triangle having angles of 30, 60, 90, or 45, 45, 90. Knowledge of the ratio of the length of sides of a special right triangle enables us to solve for any missing part of the triangle. The ratio of the side lengths of a special right triangle with angles of 30, 60, 90 is 1:sqrt(3):2, while the ratio of the side lengths of a special right triangle with angles of 45, 45, 90 is 1:1:sqrt(2).

*Too brief. No mention of the pythagorean theorem formula. Irrelevant crap with roots at the end takes away from the key issue.* The bottom line is this: c^2 = a^2 + b^2 where "c" is the length of the hypoteneuse and "a" and "b" are the lengths of the other two sides that nobody ever calls "legs" because it doesn't matter. So you plug in a variable (say "x") for the missing value and solve for it.
