LOL. You should hear me explaining ductility. After reminding them what it looks like to pull on the opposite sides of a warm LaffyTaffy, I make loud quacking noises as I pull my hands apart. And every time I say valence electrons in class, I make a loud licking noise, because I when you lick a jaw breaker, no matter how many shells of candy flavor there are, you only taste the outermost shell. Whatever helps you remember, use it.

I'm so glad you found it useful! When I went back to school to become an engineer after my time in the Marine Corps, I was a husband and a father. I was also a much better student because I was more mature, and because I was a husband and a father; however, I was also working harder to make up for lost time. I was in class with kids that took the prerequisite class 2 weeks ago, and I took it 8 to 10 years ago. Unfortunately for me, this was in early internet days (dial up modem) and long before KZbin.

I'm glad you found it helpful. Keep in mind, that most college professors would probably expect students to have had some basic instruction on the periodic table of elements in middle school and high school. Everyone learns at different paces, and what we learned before, doesn't always stick with us for a very long time. Your professor has to design their curriculum around some set of expectations. I'm sure they did not expect to give lecture time to this, and on the plus side, this allows each student to spend as much time as they need either reviewing the material, relearning it, or coming at it for their first time. I'm really flattered that they thought to include a link to my video.

Part of the beauty of the periodic table is how it continues to grow with new elements being discovered (or created in high energy physics experiments), and yet the underlying structure of the table still holds true.

I'm glad it was helpful. If you are looking for more videos, I would highly recommend ones by Professor Dave Explains. He has a lot of content on many different areas. I like the way he explains the concepts and he has very helpful graphics.
