I have fine, meduim density and high porosity hair. I love mini twists but it get rough quickly and my hair gets tangled easily. So I stick with medium braids at the back and cornrows at the front and I'm good to go. I install them myself. I love the stretch that braids gives unlike mini twist
@Ifeoma_Gift9 ай бұрын
The tangles are just something else. And yes, mini braids do the stretching job better. I admire your patience to make your hair 😫 Keep going ❤️

As regards fullness with braids... You can make twists with kinky extension and crochet it on the Length of the singles braids.... You will get the fullness you want
@Ifeoma_Gift9 ай бұрын
@@eleweibevictoria4969I understand, only that I don't use extensions.

I have type 4 hair with an undefined curl texture and fine strands. I love mini twist for the look but my hair lives primarily in mini braids. Mini twist just aren’t durable. I don’t have a problem with locking. I actually have a loc and it took nearly a year for it to lock. I have grown my hair from a 1 cm long shave to past my collar bone in a 2 and a half years and it’s mostly due to mini braids and realizing my hair has a 3 day moisture cycle.
@Ifeoma_Gift9 ай бұрын
That's some serious length retention you have there. You're definitely doing something right. And yes, mini braids are the truth ✨ I don't think I've even discovered my moisture cycle yet. About time I worked on that! Well done with your hair ❤️
@Blue-wv3le9 ай бұрын
@@Ifeoma_Gift unless you are prone to chronic dryness I don’t think knowing the moisture cycle is necessary. I was having split ends that were leading to breakage. I also use primarily natural products which makes my hair require extra care.

about cornrows do you think that some type of cornrows belongs better to some type of hair? when i was in Ivory Coast, my Hairstylist/hairbraider use to tell me that "plat plat" cornrows ( also known as inside cornrows) are better for my fine hair. My grandma who has fine hair too prefers inside cornrows on her hair. And I remember that inside braids were my goto hairstyle and i used to retain more length with it. Maybe because this style brings less pressure on the scalp?
@Ifeoma_Gift9 ай бұрын
I agree that some type of cornrows are better for certain hair types. The inside cornrows you talk about have helped me retain length when my hair was shorter. And I also believe it's due to less pressure on the scalp in contrast to the classic cornrows. In Nigeria, we call them 'Didi'. The classic cornrows, which are more popular hardly help me retain any length on my fine strands. Thanks for sharing your experience ❤️

I thought I was the only one who's hair does not like mini twists 😅

Lol... you're not 😂

Haha. My hair likes them…but no more than 3 weeks and it needs to be the style i do before i get a trim. My hair tangles if longer than 3 weeks. And it’s also kinda rough on my ends if my ends are already bad…but i love the style. Additionally, my hair doesn’t like protective styles where my ends can poke out, like when braiders can’t tuck my natural hair. Mini twists are in that category, but I’ve learned i must get my hair straightened and trimmed once i remove the style.

Dandruff is my problem and I've used almost all sorts of products still no improvement. Please any tips for me?
@Ifeoma_Gift8 ай бұрын
Sorry about your experience. The only time I remember having dandruff was when my hair was much shorter. Back then, I stopped using all forms of hair creams on my hair. But I wouldn't recommend that because even though it helped, my hair suffered dryness for it. Have you tried rosemary oil or water? I recommend it. Don't go too long without washing your hair, maybe two weeks max. Then stop letting products (creams, gels) touch your scalp. Oil your scalp with rosemary oil twice weekly, and spritz your hair with rosemary water. But don't let the water (or regular water) touch your scalp. The only time water should touch your scalp is when washing your hair. If rosemary oil doesn't work, use peppermint oil. Another thing to use is acv (apple cider vinegar) but only on your scalp. At least any of these should help somehow. All the best ❤️

I have been doing mini twist but anytime i want to lose it.. ha i lost my hair because my hair get tangle and lock up I want to start mini braid and see if there will be different
@Ifeoma_Gift9 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, this used to be me 😭 The tangles & breakage were too much. But when I stopped washing in mini twists and started moisturizing without water, it helped a lot . I'm sure mini braids will give u better results. It is excellent for length retention 👌
