I just subscribed his platform. That's really help me to improve. Whenever I have a chance, I grab my guitar and patiently follow his learning material. It's very easy, progressive, and without realizing, now I can play one song with A and D chords, just in 3 days (30 minutes each lesson). Maybe some people will laugh at me, but having good sound from my cheap guitar is one of my dream. Thanks Justin.

I can't believe this. As a kid I started playing many different instruments, but quit all, because no teacher could teach me the rhythms in a way I could keep up. I know the meaning of the notes, just never got my brain to put it to practice. Now I'm starting with string instruments as an adult, but once again hit the rhythm wall. And then Justin comes along and makes it understandable to my adhd-dancer-brain. Thank you so much @justinguitar ❤

Been playing for 65 years. Have been a gigging musician. Now playing in church praise band for 13 years. No problems with any song..99% by ear. No rhythm difficulties. Play funk/Rand B as a side project. No problem. Was intimidated in thinking that I couldn't understand these concepts to pass along to my friends and students. At 14:01 I had to stop your video and shout and giggle. I am able to not just do it...I am beginning to "get it". Knew when I saw you mention Rhythm Maestro that you would be the clear path to understanding. God bless you Bro Justin!

Rhythm / strumming was something that was never actually taught to me over the several attempts I had to learn guitar as a kid, and that's partly why I stalled. It was only learning the tick tock strumming method & when it was pointed out that rhythm guitar is often based around drum beats through KZbin lessons that it finally made sense. I'm so grateful to you and a couple of other KZbin guitar teachers for putting this information out there for anyone like me to find.

I have been playing guitar for 10 years and first I did not get it why teacher was always talking about metronomy or drum beat while practice with guitar. Much later on I got it when I was using that for like a year. It really helps all the aspect of music. I agree that 50 % of music is the rhythm. Well done Justin!!

Finally someone talks about one of the most important aspects of playing. If your in a band and hit a bad note, the audience will probably not notice, but if the band doesn't groove......you're not getting hired again. Thank you so much for this!!

Justin... I hoped to learn music as a boy, and right at the beginning the teacher was old, aged, tattered and hopelessly tied to traditionalisms used the british 'quaver' names (if you like). To me, a quaver was cheesey puff and entirely not musical. The semibreves, crotchets and Demi semi quavers ruined it for me. My brain closed, and my interest dissolved. From then on, written music was nothing more than a mystery and remained as such. Until tonight. I'm 52, and the idea of whole, half, quarter & eighth notes has just blew it wide open for me once again. Incredible! Such a simple thing to stumble on - and how typically British to over complicate. Thank you for a brilliant class. Amazing!. Happy 2022 to you. Long may you continue.

Justin...this is exactly what is happening to me! After a few weeks of exercises on your Rhythm book my hand started moving while listening (which I couldn't do before) and the Rhythm is starting now to be more "with" the melody than "behind" it. Tried to do it on muted strings...still quite messy but ...God strumming patterns are coming out by ear and feeling now! And I can feel so much more connected with music while listening! Thank you so much. I now have a much better idea of what to look for. I was very lost. Having no music training. No guitar lessons, just learning chords and getting stuck. Can't play anything and getting frustrated. Now I can practice training my ear to the rhythm. The timing is hard too. Tried the metronome, but that confuses me more. A lot to learn, but now with a direction.

Here's a tip on practicing 'transcribing by ear'. I'm taking a video, where the guitar player plays the vocal melody. At the moment it's Sebastian Lindqvist (you should check him out, really underrated and great covers) and Kfir Ochaion. Kfir is the god tier level with all those bendings. So here's what I do: I pick a song, watching the video (most time at 0.5 speed) and writing down the notes. A lot of the time you can't see exactly what he's playing, because of the switching camera angles. So I grab my guitar, turn on the original song and try until I get the right notes. Is it work? Yeah. Does it take time? Oh yeah. Is it rewarding, when you find out parts of the song by yourself? Hell yeah. And on the plus side, you're gonna learn the notes on the fredboard as a side effect. Great channel Justin, love your work. I still remember the day I picked up my guitar for the first time and started your first video 4 years ago. And since then you're part of my guitar journey and ever will be.

Ok, so far I got through this video, pretty straightforward so far. Got 'em all right. I was hoping for some real tests, i even wrote the chords you played. Can't wait to get into more complicated stuff. Hope there's more! I like the rests, where you stop a note for some part of a beat. I never understood ppl that ask, "What's that strumming pattern?" Its like, "How can i put my finger in my ear if I can't watch it go in? I don't know how to tell my individual muscles to contract!" No, they'll do that by themselves. You don't need to tell them that level is detail. My answer is, "So, just play it! If it isn't right, then fix it."

Wow. That was a really great demonstration of rhythm. I love the rhythmic dictation by clapping that establishes the pattern and see myself clapping different rhythms for no apparent reason quite often. I was surprised that I got them all. At first I had to pause and think where the backbeat appeared but by the time you actually played the chords I heard the actual rhythm by two or three measures and was spot on for each.
