As Spencer’s mom-in-law, I found it especially ironic that he showed me the part about my cooking while I was making him dinner!🤣🤣🤣

😂😂😂 We all wish we had a mother-in-law like you. He should be more grateful. 😉

I personally don't get the hate for White Fish...They are native, good fighters, and more than willing to bite a wide variety of flies and baits. Is it because they aren't as pretty as rainbows & browns or is it more of a fly fishing snobbery situation where everyone just hears that Whitefish are inferior when they first started fly fishing so they run with it and state it as fact?

What happened at 19:47 is that while you were deciding on whether to put the fish on the reel or retrieve by hand, it started to swim to shore right of you. That is the side towards where you should have applied the side pressure in the first place. Instead, you tried to steer the fish back to facing the current and gave much more leverage to it. The fish used that leverage to shake forcefully and freed itself.

Agreed. I actually went back and watched the footage afterwards and you are 100% right. Should have put the pressure downstream. 😎🤙🏽

I love these guys. I have watched countless videos about trout fishing, but these two explain everything so well and they are funny as well. Keeps me interested. I have to travel when it comes to trout fishing. Wish I knew of some rivers like they fish in. Rivers or streams that are not very deep. I like to go alone so wading deeper water and faster water is not my choice. If I fall down in shallow water I’m sure, even if my waders fill with water I can still get up.

I’m working on using flys on my spinner rod. Got to use what you have. Been fishing decent size rivers and this has been helpful. Can’t wait to get out and see if I can spot the difference in the water tomorrow.

Hi Jean Michel, I'm having a few problems with my line nymph fishing sessions. For several outings now, I've been fishing all day without managing to catch a fish, despite changing nymphs several times (I've tried several tip sizes: 12, 14, 16, as well as different configurations with different tips and stems depending on the water vein and depth). I'm wondering if this is normal or if there are adjustments I could make to improve my results. I'm aware that fishing isn't an exact science, but I'd like your opinion. - Would you recommend any strategies for adjusting the nymph's drift, or any advice on reading the river? - Are there any particular signs to look out for to understand whether the fish are active, and what type of nymph would be best in these conditions? How do I know if my drifts Are they correct? I'm willing to try several things, and any advice or adjustments you could give me would be very welcome. Thank you in advance for Your help Material rod 10 silk of 3 nymphmaniac

Now differentiate a run from a glide .... haha good luck. We won't even get to Rosgen stream channel typing or Hankin and Reeves fish abundance estimations lol

Challenge accepted. Lol. Jk from a teaching/terminology perspective, we consider runs and glides one in the same. What do you think?
