Subscribed. I run front and rear cameras 2023 F250 Diesel. I power cameras in the same fuse box. Up fitter switches. I’m getting ready to do some installing. When I locate all six wires I’m going to extend them one foot at least. This way I never have to get to bottom of that box again. Get a wire marker kit to identify wires. I also just tucked in my camera wires front and rear. Did not remove puller. Very good video.

On your video installing the camera wiring where did you pass your wires through the firewall

There are pass through wires going from under the dash to the fuse box area. They are small gauge and I didn’t want to use them. I went through a grommet in the firewall on the passenger side. I just poked a small hole with a coat hanger and pulled a wire through.

Also the camera goes to the fuse panel on passenger side. I used fuse taps to connect it.

New subscriber - Thanks for the informative video. I want to install (3) Raptor style Grill Lights that will come on automatically whenever the truck is on. Can I hook the hot wire from the Grill Lights to the brown wire with the white stripe which you said is the ignition on hot wire? Also, can you wire an upfitter switch to be on whenever the ignition is on - that way I could just run it to an upfitter switch and leave that switch on all the time (except when I wanted to switch it off)? Any other way you know of on how to have the grill lights on whenever the truck is running - maybe hook them up to the Daytime Running Lights, but how would you do that? Thanks!

Best way is to find a schematic but if not the I would locate the running lights wires and find the hot and tap into that. Make sure it’s not a blinker so your lights don’t blink when you turn. 🤪

Thnaks! My UpFitter wires in my 2024 F350 Diesel were in the same location. Ford should terminate in fuse box or at least give us 12" more wire to work with but we will make do. Question: did you drill a hole thru the Fire Wall? I want to install an additional 12v accessory plug(old cig lighter) inside or under the glovebox.

Thanks for the video Two questions. 1. Can you show how you ran the wire through the firewall? 2. Why did not use the pass-through wires instead of running the wire through the firewall? I believe those are located near the interior fuse panel, passenger side.

@@LoCleTXRV it’s been while since I made this video. I think the pass through wires are tiny and I didn’t want to use them for that reason. I just made a pin hole in a grommet on the passenger side. Then I used a hanger to pull the wire through like a needle and thread. 🪡

I’m a little confused if you’re wiring, the lights to your Upfitter switches, why did you need to tap to the fuse box?

The wires come out under the fuse box. These are the wires from the switches inside the truck. This is where you connect them to whatever you are hooking up.

The fuse box was for the camera. It needs a hot wire to function while parked. Upfitter switches don’t work with the truck off.

@@jaycanfixitI saw on another video, inside the upfitter relay box is an orange fuse, that if you remove the fuse, the base for the fuse can slide over and you reinstall the fuse, switches 5&6 are powered without the ignition on

So you tied your cameras into the fuse box under passenger side? And you tied your lights until the upfitter switch that has nothing to do with the fuse panel you tied your camera into right? I'm a bit confused what you needed the fuse panel for under passenger dash still. Why not tie your camera into an upfitter switch?

Camera needs a hot + all the time wire. That way it can start recording if it senses a hit by another car while parked. The upfitter switches are for the fire lights.
