Thank you so much for the information. I really appreciate your efforts to simplify the residency process for IMGs. As for the externship part, I have to disagree with you, I don't think they are valued equally with observerships since the IMG is allowed to do hands-on rotations. A couple of my friends had the chance to do externships and they could write orders and do physicals and practice exactly like the interns.

Thanks Dr Asaad for your video! I'm a 5th year student of a 6 year program in Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. I've sent more than 50 mails (really I did) in hopes of doing an elective in Neurology, but in vain. The vast majority of schools either didn't accept because my school is not LCME accredited (VLSO portal) or because I haven't done my rotations yet, although my step 1 score is 260. I hope you can advise me which schools are more IMG friendly. Again, thank you so much!

Hey @amak98, this can vary quite a bit depending on the type of clinical rotation and location. If you are looking for hands-on experience (ie clerkships/externship), it’s best to check the hospitals Visiting Student page. That will usually have answers regarding visas or at least the person to contact for more information.
