Gotta agree with Dr Lori - wear them wear them wear them! Unless they are in need of repair or a stone is loose = wear it! ESPECIALLY if they are handed down in the family! Now if the item is so beyond ugly you just can't bring yourself to wear it, then that is acceptable. :) My mom and dad bought their mothers mother's rings. When my Grams passed away my mom asked me if I wanted it. This ring was so ugly *lol* I was happy for my eldest aunt to get it. I told her to just keeping passing it down. I love wearing my hand-me-downs, whether real or a nice piece of costume jewelry. Digging it out brings out old memories. A family member may ask about it and I have a story to share (stories and photos ought to be shared). Who doesn't feel a little bit put more together with a little bling?.

@@DrLoriV True, but the way my mom asked me (look on face and voice) she really wanted it to go to her elder sister. I got the little engagement ring Grams had promised me. She had 3, one for the eldest 3 granddaughters and diamond watches for the others (total of 12 grandkids, only 3 boys) It has history with me :) Grams let me wear it to a dance and I lost it and found it! It slipped off my finger and by some miracle landed in the cuff of my jeans. It was a hard 12hrs until it made that surprise appearance. I was honest with my grandmother on what had happened and never asked to wear it again until I could get it sized properly.
