Nick, one additional enhancement is to cut one end of the ribbon, up the middle of the ribbon for about 1 inch. Then, after putting the split ribbon through the tape, you can fan out the two sides of the cut, sticking one one each side of the tape from where it enters the tape. Then you have two directions of strength to hold the ribbon on the tape.

That makes a lot of sense, Dan. Thanks for the suggestion. Have you tried using wider ribbons? I wonder how they would affect the flight? I think they'd be easier to spot and easier to cut down the middle when attaching them to the disc.

Some have wider ribbons, but I have only used the narrow ones. I doubt it would affect our "senior" throws at all. We don't find the narrow ribbons hard to find, at least most of the time.

Balmy Colorado with its "wet snow" is the problem. Our Canadian "dry snow" lets the ribbon stay on top much more often. Come on up to Central Ontario and we will give you a real snow round (but in 2025, because our snow is already gone this year! Great video, Nick.

Interesting that dry snow holds the discs on top better. I would think the opposite since it's so light. I was really surprised when the ribbon tore through the tape because I pulled too hard.

Hey Nick! Glad you're sharing this. I live in Minnesota, where we get the opportunity to play in the snow as well. Anyone, and especially us old dudes, need to be very careful when throwing in the snow because your footing is slippery. Gotta stow the ego and the run-ups for summer. Discing in the snow is a great time, but you need to be happy, always carry a smile in your bag with you, and just be happy to be out with friends. Keep your dreams of making Jomez coverage for warmer days. 😅 Be well, my friend!

Great attitude! Just take it easy out there. It's so nice being outside taking a walk and throwing some discs is a nice added bonus!

what do you mean lol even in summer I throw stand still no matter what my knees dont need the extra stress and my fear of breaking a hip scares me lol But I can still throw 300 so I am happy with that If I did a run up i am sure I could get another 20 ft lol not worth it. lol Old Dude disc golf rocks!
