My voice changes with every song I sing, I need my own voice. I want to be able to sing and play my guitar

I've been teaching this since I began teaching voice 38 years ago. It works for everybody, no fail.

I often listen to interviews of singers. They often sound very differently from when they sing. In some cases, I would have never guessed they're the same.

Believe me, i had watched like 20 video on how to find singing voice, they were making it more complex. You explained it so clearly. I literally have no doubt now. Thanks😄❤️

Hey! Thanks for this. I've been taking voice lessons since I was a child and this is a very good reminder on how to find the natural singing voice. I use this technique to lessen the strain on my voice and to ensure I can sustain my voice quality.

ive struggled with singing for a long time. and i’ve watched a lot of beginner “find your voice” videos. but the way you explained it made it click for the first time and i feel stupid because of how obvious and easy it is. so thanks for helping me with a breakthrough!

I just tried it like, _rightnow_ and... wow. It just felt so much more natural and easy, so effortless, it sounded so good, and it sounded... like ME. I've been trying to figure this out literally, for years, and in less than 5 minutes you showed me how to find it. Thank you so, so much for this. I hope we will be seeing more of this series. You've got a fan.

WOW i cant believe I never thought of simply switching from speaking to singing quick like that. I actually love the way i sounded by simply following my natural voice. Gonna continue obsessing over this exercise now and doing every day.

Chase, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, *love* the sound of your voice. Always enjoy hearing your demonstrations in the reactions. Wish you and Melia would do more covers. 😊

We had a choir rehearsal last night, and the choir director did exactly like you’re doing at 2:33. I tried at home and I am now 100% certain that it is how one should approach singing. If I don’t do it, I realize I’m pushing and creating a lot of tension. When I use your way, I feel like I’m deflating like a balloon. It’s much more comfortable.
@a.k.strigidae3 жыл бұрын
I think I talk regularly with some tension. I don’t generally like my talking voice; except for the rare moments I talk completely relaxed. That is an awesome voice. I have sort of been using a similar technique to this when I find myself in that relaxed mood. It is helping also use that voice more when talking.
@AshLey-yf1qw3 жыл бұрын
I kind of have a similar situation but the opposite, when Im loud and talk a lot through out the day I notice that my voice gets a tiny bit higher than usual.And when ever its like that I realize that it makes me sound better when I sing. Perhaps it’s because it’s warming up my vocal cords which makes me sound like that.
@a.k.strigidae3 жыл бұрын
@@AshLey-yf1qw we probably have opposite approaches. As you get tired your stress goes up. As I get tired my anxiety leaves.
@muhamadzamfahmi19 Жыл бұрын
Wooo we are the same. Sometimes my voice changes. Also my singing voices getting better after a lot of attempt in singing, maybe because then it's become relax. My friends said my voice sounds like woman. There is one moment where my another friend salute me back with high notes to copy how i sounded.

Hello Chase, for almost 10years I have struggled I finding my voice. From the age of 8to about high school I sang soprano in the choir. I got married had kids and poof I can’t find my voice anymore. I will try to use you technique. I love to sing but hate the distortion of my voice when I try to sing classical music. I will keep following your KZbin you maybe the reason I will love to sing again

At times I can. Sing when I don't think or I'm distracted I be so focused on singing good but when I completely don't think I can hit high notes and stuff and try to sing like other people

I love the explanation and you are so entertaining it is super funny, but have a question, for example how do I speak the song when my voice is in a completely different key of the original song? or when it have to much changes in octaves, I keep speaking the song in a neutral tone?? I don't know if I explained well but thank you anyway and i'm sorry for my english. ^^'
@ChaseandMelia3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! It is a great question! You speak the song in a Neutral tone. This exercise is designed to help you with vowel not your pitch. It is a lot easier to focus on your vowel when you are trying to fully sing the song. Try to practice specific things, breath control, phrasing, vowels etc., instead of everything all at once! You got this! 😊

But what if your "natural voice" is twisted? Meaning that the way some people talk is not natural but they always talk like that. So now, if the Natural voice is manufactured for any 'x' reason. How do people fix that problem?

Can this be a method of how people can sing with a lot of emotions? Like a lot of musical actors can sing with a lot of emotions as part of their acting.
@ChaseandMelia3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! We believe that’s it’s how we should sing all the time. But at the same time you can have so much emotion that people can’t understand what you’re saying. There is a point where some people sing with too much emotion and lose what they’re trying to communicate with the song.
@MisterOpera2 жыл бұрын
Your speaking voice is a collection of learned behaviors. Singing is a distinct set of learned behaviors with often very different goals compared to speaking. The premise here really doesn't make very much sense at all, and seems to be shaming people for the same mimicry that was in the first place how they acquired speech.

"Your natural voice is your speaking voice" Doubt it's as important as it's made to be though. All those 40s crooners didn't just happen to have a natural crooning voice and suddenly the next generation stopped having a natural voice like that. Instead, they cultivated that style and that kind of timbre, and when the fashion for crooning passed, the next generation opted for other kind of voices... Once can see the same thing happen many times
