Oh my god I did the nyah excercise and I hit a high note that I've never heard from me I was so shocked cause everytime I try to sing songs that have a chorus In headvoice with some really high parts my voice just cracks or fades away so I've never heard myself sing that high! I have weekly vocal lessons (one of my fave hobbies!) and my main obstacle is voice placement. We do the NYAH exercise but instead we do MYAH 😄 I have a problem of not being consistent - really working on it and this helped!!

I'm 35 and struggle with my voice my whole life. When I talk, I sound slower and dull to other people compared with how I hear myself. I do pretty good impressions though, I seem to have perfect resonance when doing impressions, but not when I talk normally as myself 😢

I've never learnt professional singing b4 but never knew that you could close off the nasal passage way to make your voice sound different. Tried it by pinching my nose to see if it sounded different & it did the first few times, can't believe I've already learnt a few things just by watching one of your video's. Bravo.

I dislike my voice when I record it. I sound off. Not ...always. I hear myself differently. I sound good to myself. I have a good vocal range. I'm a soprano. I have sung in choirs since I was 2. My pitch needs to improve.

Where you ever a vocal coach for Hank Jr. Over the last week I've come to really like you, so If I say something that sounds adversarial it's because I'm twice your age and have made countless observations. The most successful artists never took one lesson and knock it outta the park routinely.

I don't think you are 134 years old, Frank! As far as successful artists that "never took one lesson", that's not necessarily true. A lot don't want to admit that they have had lessons, wanting their fans to think it is all "natural". And for those that never had lessons, like I always say, there are always exceptions to the rule. Great if that works for them, but I teach what works for most singers. If singing is so simple, why would anyone want to take lessons?

Hello Victoria, I was a singer in the USSR profecional query "Varpelis" from the edge 7 years old. But I stopped and quit when the conductor of the query decided that I would sing solo. The reason was that my right lip was dropping, and even when I talked one could see it and discriminate me, especially during school. After I stopped singing simultaneously I was kicked out of that school. After that, I become a criminal gangster and then a musician. Do you have problems in the US? If you have a dropping lip on the side. My guess is yes.
