As a fellow YT creator I just want to take a minute and tell you how much I appreciate your videos. They have breathed new life into me. I’m burned out and without a drop of creativity but you’ve reminded me it’s okay to work at it until I’m good again.

I liked your story and style - it feels so casual and cozy. I made a pot of noodles while listening to this. It makes life more real. No need for a curated sense of poise and almost artificial sophistication. 🤗 We are all normal people!

MANDY!! I found your channel a few days ago and immediately starting binging your content in the middle of your channel growth explosion!! congrats !! your videos resonate so much and i LOVE your energy and authenticity - it truly sets you apart. THEN, this morning this video pops up and i click and when i say i am SHOOK!! I knew we had a connection and now after watching this i realize we share the TCK connection... and im in the middle of working on a video essay about this topic so this is EXACTLY what i needed to watch. thank you SO MUCH for sharing yourself and your stories. even though this video wasnt as 'bullet point' based like your more recent ones, i ATE IT UP and it was SO good. down to the story about the breakfast i was hooked... partly because i KNOW those fancy asian hotel breakfasts and how they make you feel and how apart of the whole experience of visiting home is. I have been planning a whole comment to send you, but after watching this I just had to send you a message ASAP. cannot wait to see where you are going and keep watching your content!! the ending was so hilarious, you are the best!

Like, I really like (pun intended), the authenticity of what you're sharing in your videos. You do you! I guess you just 'walked' yourself home, and are helping others to walk home in their careers (and I suppose in life as well). That's not a job, it's your 'work'. Love it.

FYI, i prefer it if you don't look at the camera all the time, like that would be creepy wouldn't it? when you look around it's a sign you're imagining and actually thinking about what you're saying. Rock on!

Id love to hear your experience with friendships cuz it was wild for me. I made the closest friends and lost so many from moving around. Do you feel like it’s hard to make friends now? These days have you found belonging with friends or more belonging within yourself?
@careercoachmandy3 ай бұрын
it's so funny. it has been wild for me, too. i find it really hard to trust people and i get overwhelmed with new friendships. also, i have the same best friends from high school in beijing (i went to int'l school) because i feel like when you have such a weird upbringing, you tend to stay close to people who have the same background and can actually understand you. right now i feel like it's easy to make friends, but i am hesitant (truly!) because i just want to be around like, the same 2 people in my life. does that make sense?
@mishelle21693 ай бұрын
@@careercoachmandy makes 10000% sense 😂 I am the same. I went to international school and then moved around a bunch and ended up in a boarding school. So now as an adult all my closest friends live in different parts of the world. I would love to have like one or two people who are just here and we’re each others people you know what I mean? Im also scared to be vulnerable enough to connect deep enough to get there. Ugh. It’s rough cuz im like trying to find belonging but like dude my tolerance for vulnerability is so tiny omg 😂
@careercoachmandy3 ай бұрын
@@mishelle2169 i totally know what you mean. i just try to put it in context and be okay with lowering my expectations. i also want to feel belonging and the siren call of a close friendship circle is like, crack to me. but i have to be real. because i am so guarded, too. like if i have ONE good friend in the same physical location, then it's a win. but that's really hit or miss! i also have found solace in writing and in, weirdly, making these YT videos LOL. but it is a process for sureeee
@mishelle21693 ай бұрын
@@careercoachmandy totally, its an acceptance and expectation thing for sure. Thanks for sharing 💕
