another thing is that if your string tension is bit tight while doing finger spin like throwing it like fresbee than what I do is that I throw like breakaway throw horizontally and let the yoyo fall down and wait for it do die. The spin automatically loosen up. Also you can practice fingerspin also like that as if you miss you pr string will get loose anyways and if you want string to tighten up just throw it like freesbee again.

One thing about bowl shape if you train alot and get the softfinger technique down you can fingerspin alot longer than other cups.

I'm learning fingerspin now, I'm at the beginning of the path tho..One thing that I just don't understand is that, when I see it in videos, it doesn't matter if the string is loose, but if I try to do it, and let the string a bit loose, it wraps around my finger immediately, and kills the spin..

Thank you for this tutorial. I'm still not very good at yoyo but finger spin, eli hops and boingy boing tricks always amazed me. After 30 minutes of failed finger spin attempts, one finally landed perfectly and the feeling was incredible (dare I say "orgasmic" LOL)

I have to disagree with you on one thing. Yoyos with a totally open bowl (like a horizon) finger spin GREAT when perfectly horizontal. You simply have to keep your finger soft and the yoyo will spin dead center for a looooong time. It won't wobble around like you show. It's not that hard to do after some practice.
