Colourism to me is insulting or treating someone badly because of the shade of their skin, Preference is being able to say you like a certain skin tone without offending and tearing down another skin tone. I also think Sino is right, you can't take away someone's beauty by changing their skintone. If a person is ugly , they're ugly no matter what their skintone is. 9 times out of 10 a person is ugly because you dont like their features and those features will still be ugly to you weather they're lightskin or darkskin.
@trevor134711 ай бұрын
No, when other people bleach they look more beautiful.
@SibusisoHlophe-dp5lq10 ай бұрын
Well said. Thank you. Not all lights kin will be 'beautiful'. Not all dark people must be called beatuful either for fear of us being labeled colorists. If you're ugly you're ugly no matter the skin tone.

Im 36 and yes during 2000 - 2010, light skin dudes were the preference. I remember I also tried Lemon Lite to try to be less dark, used it once and following day my bras laughed at me when I told them what Im trying to do. After than day I didnt give a shxt about my skin color anymore. Honestly after my life experience so far, I can honestly say that these things dont matter, they only matter when you are comparing yourself to others. Everyone is actually a 5/10, everyone has people who thinking they are a 5 and other who think they are a 10. Personally I think Beyonce is a 6. So what. Look at any woman you think is ugly ne, do you realize that they all usually have boma 2 kids and a husband? Think about all the people you've thought are unaattractive, somehow you find they are all happily married. Now you and your good looks.... still single lol. So my point is, you are NOT inherently attractive, you become it.

my sister there was lacking articulation in the moment, what she meant to say was that the other sister wouldn't be her literally if she was darkskin she would literally be someone else not that she wouldn't be beautiful that's up to option that's subjective. SO skintone is just a matter of preference, its on a spectrum, opposites attract so dark sins shy more to dark skins and dark skins shy more to light skins. because if a light skin prefers light skins over dark its looked at as racism's but if a light skin prefers a dark skin its looked at as preference and progressive, which is just wrong and bias.

Sino was right about this one. Your complexion is a part of how you look. There is a colourism issue, but saying that if the “light skin” is taken away from the person they wouldn’t be pretty, feeds into the same narrative of colourism. Perceiving light skin a prettier whereas you can just take what you see as it is.

Eish I don’t know man. I’mma be honest.I can sense an inferiority complex in the dark skin hun. I agree with the argument of coloursim on a holistic level but it’s not fair to use it as broad paintbrush to diminish beauty. That’s what she did with her own sister(imagine). Even judging by Sinos reaction, we all know very well that that light skin girl is actually pretty and not just cause of the colour of her skin. Put them same cheekbones, lazy China eyes, and dope jawline on a darker tone and she might f around be Goddamm hotter than she is right now. I agree that light skin privilege exists, but for someone who is neither dark nor light(just brown nje),I judge beauty by beauty standards fam. The dark skin sister came across as someone with deep complexities made of her experiences of being made to feel non existent for being dark. She must deal with that. She must not project that view towards her peng sister. It makes her seem hella bitter sway.

55:10 I agree with Sino. You cant take away the aspect of the person that make them attractive. There are guys that are desirable to girls because they are confident or because they are mascular. So you cant say if you were not confident or mascular then you will not be attractive. Everyone have something that makes them desireable either their eyes, teeth, body etc. If you want to have a fair comparison, then you will be comparing skeletons because body structures and body features will never be same for all people.
