Just remember, it contains Silica. If you use a lot of it and need to do considerable amount of sanding you might consider using a respirator.

Thank you, I wondered after my patch work was a little bumpy on the edge. I am putting peel and stick tiles, after seeing how the tiles will show anything underneath that is not patched. Thanks again! Wow, that is so awesome!

Back in the early '80s when I was doing a lot of flooring I got a custom too either latex underlayment or white fast patch that was easier to sand than the products today that you find at big box stores. The stuff today is like hard as concrete. What product for skin floating a floor is available today that is sandable easily sandable. Do they still make white underlayment. I use to use tex-rite products in Houston, Texas.

What grit sand paper should I use for this
@alive-awake Жыл бұрын
I wrongfully used this to patch two whole boards on my pergola. It's really irregular and my little sander doesn't do anything to it. What can I do to fix it?

Great videos! Is this a good replacement from the floor edger you use? And also what grit count did you use in this video for sanding down your mud?
@FloorsbySouthernboys6 жыл бұрын
Hector Rojas No I did not replace my floor edger, and I used a 60 grit sandpaper to sand over the mud, thank you for watching and thank you for the compliment

Help. I am very worried about the patching job I did on my bathroom floor, as I may have over-did it, and it’s somewhat uneven. And someone stepped on a patch before it was completely dry. (OK, it was me.). Anyway, would your method above work to smooth out my footprint. And will it smooth out the transition between my old vinyl and the patch?
@FloorsbySouthernboys4 жыл бұрын
If your footprint is not too deep and likewise with the transition

@@FloorsbySouthernboys I also discovered using a paint scraper with a carbide blade helped knock down the bigger stuff so sanding went faster. I wish I had seen your video before I fretted about how to do it :) Henry, DAP, and Custom Building Products, all have a similar product and those are what I found here in California at Home Depot & Lowes. Funny thing is Home Depot stocks them in different aisles in the store ?? go figure :) Thanks again for your great advise.

Will vinyl adhere to that? If you were using flooring adhesive? Or should you prime it?

It will adhere to this

Will this stuff work for plywood subfloor seams? I have found a somewhat flexible DAP product, but it's not in stock. Don't plywood seams/gaps, need to be able to shift over time?
@beetlejes3 жыл бұрын
It's actually underlayment. We're installing sheet vinyl, and have installed wood underlayment over the subflooring. We need something to fill the seams between the underlayment sheets.
@FloorsbySouthernboys3 жыл бұрын
Yes the stuff will work for that, that’s exactly what I am doing in this video, and underlayment is secured where it will have no movement in it as far as expanding and contracting, it’s the way the plywood is made where it is a pretty stable product
@beetlejes3 жыл бұрын
@@FloorsbySouthernboys The stuff we ended up having to buy is called, Henry Patch n Level. Do you think that's okay? What was the exact product you used, before you sanded? (Sorry, I assumed you had used the Henry stuff because this video came up when I was searching for Henry Patch n Level videos). I'm nervous about the Henry stuff because it doesn't mention anything about being flexible, like the out of stock DAP product.

@@beetlejes uzin 888 It’s going to be really good for you, it does not require any additives or primer, if you use the Henry I would definitely use an additive to make it bond better and I would probably prime the floor as well whenever are used for the Henry

There are several different types of floor leveling patchs. Not saying it's what he used but it looks similar to SimplePrep Floor Patch www.homedepot.com/p/Custom-Building-Products-SimplePrep-1-Qt-Pre-Mixed-Floor-Patch-FPQT/100678072
