Thank you Brian this is the first step back into the FF world for me. Left it a number of years ago for health reasons and time. Well, now I am back, met you a number of years ago I believe in the area of the Grand River here in Ontario. Thanks for the great vid and info. Trying to get my fly tying supplies back so as to tie up my own flies but in my area fly tying supplies are anywhere from a 2-3 hr. drive. 10 -12 years ago I was only a 10 min. drive to 3 fly supply shops. The moms and pops no longer exist in my area.

Keep in mind when you move the fly with different retrieves , the fish may be picking it up for a small fish or a dragon fly nymph. Always try several movements to see which is effective.

Hi Brian, What time of leader line and tippet do yo use when you have the floating line. Is it mono tippet/ leader or Floro tippet/leader

Me Brian! Love your insight on how to fish different patterns and as a new fly fisher I’ve learned a lot from watching your KZbin videos! Thx for what you do and keep up the great work!👍 The only question I have is can I use just straight leader from my fly line like a 8lb maxima to a quick release indicator then the swivel, then a piece of 5x leader from there to my fly? Thx

From Brian: You certainly run straight mono from the end of your fly line to your tippet section. This would work fine for suspending flies under the indicator in relatively shallow water (less than 15 ft). It can be more challenging to cast say 20 ft of straight mono under an indicator but open your casting loops will help get that longer leader out. I like to use an indicator leader for fishing that deeper water. That leader as a short 3 ft fast tapered butt section then same diameter mono below. Scientific Anglers makes Indicator leaders that are 12 ft in length and you can then add more leader to lengthen out for fishing deeper water.

Is it possible to make a wooly bugger look like a leech?
@gofishbc
@gofishbc 2 жыл бұрын
From Brian: The woolly Bugger is a reasonable representation of a leech especially when trolling or casting with it on full sinking lines. Try using smaller sized buggers ie. 10-2X hooks versus 6-2X hooks to represent smaller leeches which are highly sought after by trout.

I would like the opportunity with these guys to discuss why the controls are what they are. And why things are focused on the almighty dollar. Like planting fish that can not reproduce. Are you setting up a business threw the government to keep your jobs. Because I don't understand your goals other than obtaining the finances to keep the funds to make the fisheries more viable for the wealthy .

Huh? What does being wealthy have to do with a public resource available to anyone with a license? It costs less than $40 to fish all year in one of the most beautiful places on earth! A quick search online will tell you why triploid trout are stocked.
