How to fish MEEGS for whitefish! (Lake Simcoe ice fishing)

Here we learn how to fish the Meegs jigs from the man who makes them, James Meger! In this video, I bum a ride and get "taken to school" as we target for whitefish on Lake Simcoe through the ice with his hand made jigs. The jigs replicate a feeding minnow/goby on the bottom of the lake and they certainly do produce fish! Watch as Lincoln and myself picks James' brain for some tips and technique on catching whitefish with his lure.

Oh my, I'm so sorry. Everyone, please wear a life jacket at all times in your vessel. It just takes one slip with your motor running for your boat to go --> that way, and you won't be able to catch it. Also, invest in a PLB (Personal Locating Beacon) from like ACR or something. They are not cheap, and you never hope you need to use it, but it can save your life. Stay safe and RIP Kevin.

why would someone not take a whitefish home for cooking?! Do you have any regulations over there that would prevent that?

This is on Lake Simcoe in Ontario Canada where a Sports fishing license holder can take two such whitefish (or one if a Conservation fishing license holder) per day (the so-called daily possession limit). However these guys/gentilemen are "practicing' Catch & Release, for conservation purpose.
