Becca and Riley are great. Quality content channels. Great video Norm. Only spent about $2,000, traveled 1,200 miles and used $10k of gear and accommodations to catch a 10oz white perch. Just like anywhere else, they aren’t always biting. I’ve had some stellar catching days on ice and it’s one of my favorite things to do. I don’t get to do it anymore now that I live in Tennessee though.

Had the great idea as a teen to build a ice shack out of light wood and clear plastic wrap. Could stand in it and see all the tip ups. Yes you could. I put it on a steel tracked sled. It was amazing till the wind caught it. It took off and there was not one of us who could run it down. It just went out to the center of the lake. Went and went till we could no longer see it. Gone. It still could be out there on lake Ontario. Like the Dutchman.

I camped for 96 hours on ice in a tent... A shack would be a cake walk!
@JOHND224 Жыл бұрын
So everyone knows the solution to strapping tents and sheds down properly. 1 you will need about 50 feet of rope. I carry 100 feet 2 you will need a anchor of some sort that you can use to secure in the ice. I use retractable safety fall anchor with self made grinder imprints to grab the ice in a 3\4 inch hole about 4-6 inches in the ice and tie down from there. I do 1 high and 1 low on each corner in heavy winds or if I'm not around

That seems like fun! Here in North Sweden their called Arcs you know Noahs arc ? Mostly used for burbot fishing when its stupid cold like now in late January and February .bä But you need to Create a better Boggie/pulley system down in the bearing lower parts of the arc just make something in steel if you can build that youve got to know someone who own a weld . From side to side in metal and in s triangle form with a simple snowmobile hookup system and your set ! And it will be durable through out the 2030:s . 4pm ? When does the sun go down over there ? We only have about 3-5h of sunligt now in these months . Regards Paul Roger Nilsson
