always like this show.. I was a self taught fly fisherman but haven't done it in maybe 30 years now.. I am thinking I might want to pick it up this year and these videos really help.. we had nothing like this when I started fishing in the 60's never the less I had a lot of fun catching them on fly poles.. I also do spincasters.. but there i something about catching a fish on a fly pole that is a touch more exciting.. carry on gentlemen !

Changing the line tip is great. I’ve avoided changing the line due to the time it takes otherwise.

Great tips! Love the quick line change, see if I can impress someone with that!! Thanks for your video! :)

I would tie the new leader on with a nonslip mono loop. That way you can get the “handshake” connection which is less likely to cut into the loop of your fly line

Very nice! Fishing the "hang" is a great technique and has induced a lot of strikes for me when fishing streamers on still water. The other item is making long casts. Seems like the trout need some time to follow the streamer before they hit and I believe they're induced to strike when challenged by a second fish. Many times when I've got one on I can see a second fish in the vicinity. I also like fishing a rod with a medium action and very sensitive tip. It's more difficult to detect a strike with sinking line vs floating line such that movement of the rod tip becomes the strike indicator long before you feel resistance from the take.

could you briefly comment on retrieval speed vs line sink rate? If I'm using a fast sinking line (say 6 inch per second), and I count it down to a given depth, if I want the fly to stay closer to that dept, do I need to retrieve at about 6 inches per second? I think that if I retrieve slower, the line will continue to sink, if I retrieve faster the line will rise toward the surface... But I don't know if thats right?

Have any videos on the intermediate line with 30' sink tip? I'd like to see a video on how it will retrieve in the water, please

Nice video. Can you fish these fast sinking lines off the shore or is it preferably off a boat? And how long a leader do you use as the leader would hang up ahead of the sinking line if the leader is quite long

Great video 👍 Is the hang marker already on the lines of RIO? If not or using a different brand😇, what is the best way to apply one?

Retire your leader while your fly in the water is the dumbest technique I think I've ever seen. So many negative possibilities.
