I do mostly river fishing for small mouth. I've tried a similar artificial bait. It looks just like the toad in the video except it's a crank bait and it has a hard body. The way the hooks are mounted is even the same. The problem is with each strike I lose 80% of the fish because the hooks are tight against the HARD body. I can't wait to try this SOFT body toad. No doubt I won't lose NEAR as many fish!! THANKS ALOT!!!

Thanks for the chance #BassResource.com and #ZManBaits!!! Long casts cover water with a heavy rod and 50 lb test braid. #KastKing reel, I just got 2 of them and they are at a great price!!!!! I use the Stanley Ribbit and the #Zoom Cane Toad!!! But they will all work as long as they are all rubber. Then the waiting game until you feel them pull!!! I like pads, moss and pencil reeds the best. Just below the surface weeds works as well!!!!! Make it furgle!!! Hide the hook in the ridge of the frog. Color is important! I like natural and also have orange bellied. Plus markers to change belly colors!!! Have a follow up baits!!! Gurgle and kill it. I use a bullet sinker in front of a cane toad to kill it in holes in the moss....it'll bought get the rod ripped out of my hands on occassion!!!!! Other Tips and Tricks at BassResource.com!!!

Just started toad fishing this year and it's a blast! I started actually throwing a frog and when it wasn't working and I knew there were fish, I would tie on a Zoom Horny Toad and it was a blow-up fest! A ton of fun for sure.

Toads look like a bait I could use. I've never tried them as of yet. I have not tried Brad either been a little scared of it so far and I've been fishing for many years. I had a hard time even giving in to fluorocarbon but I just began using it. This video was very informative and I enjoyed it immensely.

Like the Stanley ribbit toads. And yes don't stop throwing them till late fall. I like weightless hook as it works a little better around grass mats and Lilly pads. Caught many behind guys using hollow body frogs.

I've had some luck fishing texas-rigged pit bosses like this but with a bell sinker slipped directly on an EWG hook. It does work but I think it's time for the real deal.

I've fished toads successfully for years. I agree with all you've said but have never used a weighted hook. I use a #5 hook on a Zoom horny toad but hook would be rigged Texas style over the top of toad so that it runs on top instead of under the surface so it's not visible to fish. Had lots of success doing that. Of course, your way works too.

I miss frog fishing. Used to do it in NY around pads and millfoil. Here on the reservoirs, there's none of that. Still, worth trying in the shallows near any scattered grass available.

when you have grandkids and they want to use toads we have spinning rods with 20 LB braid and snap swivel and toads all setup to go kids constantly are changing colors and we have other top water set up for them to use too keep them out of your hair while fishing

I believe that braid and the right rod are critical in frog fishing. Open I g up the bend on the hook also reduces missed fish. Good video....
