How to fish with an inflatable Paddle Board - Aqua Marina Fusion iSUP review

In this video I'll talk about my experience fishing with an Aqua Marina Fusion ISUP. I have had this paddle board for about 4 years and have done quite a bit of fishing in fresh water as well as saltwater. I'll show you how I set up this paddle board and how simple it is to fish with it. If you're a land based fisherman an inflatable paddle board can open up a whole new dimension of fishing opportunities. And if you're a kayak or boat fisherman a paddle board can add a bunch of excitement on calm days and greatly simplify the fishing experience.

im using the aqua marina drift fishing board. super cool because it comes with a cooler/tackle box and 2 fishing rod holders. the side tho do scare me as it seems like it doesn't take much to pop. Also havent bee able to fit in the bag it came with which is kinda irritating.

Cool man. I almost bought one of those drifts. But decided to hang onto my fusion until it breaks. I bet the drift is more comfortable to fish from but also a bit more bulky.

Cheers man. I sometimes use a portable deeper pro fishfinder on the sup. But often I just drift around rocky headlands with some lures or look for some bird and other surface activity.

Hey there, thanks. I use mine in the open ocean a bit. But since it's inflatable I usually don't go too far away from shore. Only a couple hundred meters max just in case something goes wrong. Good to paddle around headlands or to get past the tidal line into the first drop off.

Nah it's pretty stable. Just need to practice the balance a bit before attempting to fish off it. If you hook into a big fish you can always kneel down for stability.

Yeah I would think so. I haven't bothered with it yet. But would be a good idea and also more comfortable. It doesn't have attachment points for a cooler. You'd have to make up something.

Why don't you get a small SUP anchor

Yeah I got a small anchor, but I hardly ever use it. For some reason I don't enjoy fishing when anchored up. For me, drifting is much more fun and productive when fishing with lures. A drift anchor can come in handy when it's windy. But honestly, on a SUP - the less gear you take the more fun you have. Just a rod, a couple of lures and maybe a landing net. Simple and easy.

wouldn't it be better with a kayak paddle in windy conditions, and kneeling down (or a seat if you have the D-rings) Regards/R.F

Yeah kayak paddles and a seat can help. I also do a lot of kayak fishing so I just use my kayak if conditions are not suitable for the SUP. But converting a SUP into a kayak is an option. You'll get a lot more wet though.
