I went with the Wheeler bumpstops to fit my 35's in the front and they work great! I have 35x12.50 Treps on 17 inch Method wheels, great combo IMO. the only place I rubbed (barley touches it) that you didn't mention was the windshield washer fluid reservoir, needs to proly be relocated, most likely due to my zero offset wheels pushing me out just a little further than your setup. I'm still on factory AHC at this point and it's working great, just back back from my second Rubicon run a couple months ago...

Dude that's pretty sweet. They are a pretty Gnarly tire. Hopefully this upcoming year I can finally make it to the Rubicon. I personally haven't hit the washer fluid, but that is something to look out for! Have you broken anything with those big tires yet?

I also have 100 series LC. Initially I wanted to fit 35"s but I was convinced that you really should NOT run anything bigger than 33"... Lot of experts agree that 33" is the sweet spot for all generations of Land Cruisers. To fit 35's on LC100, you have to lift 3", and you HAVE to drop the front diff (otherwise your CV won't last more than 10k)... You have to chop so much stuff out. You stress all the bearings and drivetrains. Your already dismal MPG will take a nosedive. With so much additional unsprung mass it'll ride like shit on freeway. You sacrifice so much for just 1" of additional clearance (over 33's). If you want 35"s you go buy a Jeep.

I would have to disagree. I am about to pass 400k miles and 35s haven’t been a problem. And with wheel spacers and a body lift you barely have to cut. I would highly suggest 35s on your cruiser

@@toyotabros6860 At the end of the day it's your vehicle and you have your needs, so. FYI With wheel spacers, your King Pin Offset increases, and you have increased chance of damaging steering gear and tie rods. You hit a pot hole... you will buckle tie rods. Wheel bearings will suffer as well. US Spec LC100's come with the incredibly reliable (but expensive to maintain) V8 engine so you might be able to getaway without re-gearing for now. but with 35+'s... as you add more stuff (steel bumpers, rock sliders, rooftop tents, etc etc) to your vehicle and it gets heavy, your engine will definitely struggle. Ring gear pinions, all the ball bearings will be stressed beyond it's intended use (which is pretty wide just because it's land cruisers we are talking about) All in all, running 35's are possible but it gets very very expensive to do it right.

On the street stock gearing and 35s is fine for me, but I dont carry too much weight. And I just recently put in a new low gear, which is 33% lower. And I like it much more on the trail.

Thanks for sharing! I agree about the 1” body lift on top of the suspension lift. I have a 2.5” and will be installing a body lift to ensure my fenders don’t buckle on full compression in front with my 35s. Question…did you have to extend the steering pillar in any way? And if not have you noticed a difference, any tension while steering?
@toyotabros6860
@toyotabros6860 2 жыл бұрын
Smart idea! So with just a 1” body, you don’t have to worry about anything steering related. We didn’t even touch the pillar. But in our 1st gen Tacoma, I did need to get a 1.25” pillar puck to go along 1.5” body

@@toyotabros6860 did you end up having your steering significantly tighten up? I just installed mine and it’s a lot harder to steer now. Feels very heavy.
@toyotabros6860
@toyotabros6860 2 жыл бұрын
What you can do is loosen both the pillar bolts and it will loosen up the steering then retighten them and it should fix the tightness

Thanks for sharing. To install the body lift, did you have to pull up the carpet inside to gain access to the bolt heads? Was it a two man job?
@toyotabros6860
@toyotabros6860 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you have to pull up part of the carpet. The body lift could be installed with only 1 person but 2 people make it much easier especially if you use hardware from a hardware store.

Why not just add a 2 1/2 lift? Then you have very few problems and you've improved your cruiser .
@toyotabros6860
@toyotabros6860 3 жыл бұрын
Adding more suspension lift won't help give enough clearance for the 35's in the front because the wheel still travels the same amount of distance. The problem for clearance is at close to full compression in the front, the tire will hit the fender lip of the body. Their are two things that can be done one of which is adding a mild body lift which moves the body further away from the frame or adding larger bump stops in order to limit the amount of up travel. I hope this answered your question.

@@toyotabros6860 I know guys who have done the lift and upper control arm giving you more travel and wheel spacers and are doing fine.
@toyotabros6860
@toyotabros6860 3 жыл бұрын
@@4570carlandkate Having aftermarket ucas and cranking the torsion bars to lift the truck will not change how far the wheel travels up. What stops up-travel is the bump stops. The reason many people don't have issues is because they mall crawl and don't fully articulate their suspension. Or if they have cut the body panels to allow for bigger tires. If not, the 35s would rub pretty bad on the fender when fully compressed.

Don’t skip the slee front diff drop if you do 2.5” lift. Those cv joints get way too steep in my opinion

@@toyotabros6860 you stated the OME suspension lift on your cruiser is 1.5..what is the spring rating. @toyotabros6860
@toyotabros6860 3 жыл бұрын
With a suspension lift, you’re wheel will still travel the same amount during flex. So I’m full stuff 35s would hit the body. So instead of getting bigger bump stops that would reduce travel. I just did a body lift. And all off-road trails are rated 1-10.
