It’s probably been like 10 years since I stopped riding in middle school, but this was absolutely fascinating. I never understood how saddles fit! Excellent information and presentation.

This was such a helpful video. Love the detail that was given and how well Rhys explained it. This video gave me more of an understanding than my actual saddle fitter did. Props to Peter Horobin Saddlery!!

I have a saddle that I use on my quarter horse and that fits perfectly and that’s my only English saddle. But when I ride my thoroughbred with the same saddle, when I start to slow her down my saddle starts to flip up and go over her neck and head. So should I get a new saddle, tighter girth, or one of those foam blocks to put on her withers? I’m looking into getting a mono saddle but I’m worried that it won’t fit my thoroughbred.
@hebewilliseventing6 жыл бұрын
For thoroughbreds I would try to not get a wide fit saddle and definitely get a saddle fitter in as then you know the saddle will fit for certain. My saddle fitter brought some second hand saddles in good condition when he visited and then we were able to get one off him for not too much money.

hi, i know im very late to this video but can someone educate me on the difference between a standard flap and a forward flap. i get that one is more forward but i dont understand the reason. im 5'5 and about 141 pounds. i like to ride in a 17.5 size saddle. i HATE having short stirrups. do you think i would thrive in a standard or forward flap?
@cookiemonster66802 жыл бұрын
Foward flaps are for riders with really long femurs. If yours are average you’re probably not going to need a foward flap usually the people who need them are tall
