How to fit an integrated dishwasher

Fitting this was difficult, because the plumbing for the property was not fully installed, so there was a 4-inch soil pipe connection under the 900mm base unit, which had to be left accessible for the plumber, this resulted in me fitting the dishwasher, then the 900mm base unit, then the other units on that wall. I then had to fit the worktop and make the cut out for the sink, then remove the dishwasher, so that the 900 base unit could be removed! I hope everyone has a great Father’s day Sunday 😉

At 5:58 you install the scrap piece with the white mounting pieces. Can you let me know what's the name of that white piece (or a screwfix link)?

My setup is exactly like this one except the 300mm unit is missing so the dishwasher butts up to the tall unit. Do you think there will be enough space above an integrated dishwasher to add a support for the worktop, or do I need to get an additional base end panel against the tall unit end panel? Thanks! This is my first kitchen install and the only thing I am struggling with atm. I have not received my dishwasher yet

do dishwashers have a service gap. the electrics are ran behind the appliance in 16mm deep trunking. or will cables need to be chased in the wall?

How do you install that dishwasher if the countertop is installed? It must be hell. How would you install the top panel?

You would have to put the dishwasher in position, then mark the height of the top panel. Remove the dishwasher and then install the top panel using some L brackets, fitted from below. Like you say, it will be difficult 👍

I always set the units so that the plinth will fit in position, without having to cut the plinth down. Obviously you need to know what flooring is being used, so that you can allow for that as well! Thanks for the comment 👍

I have the same issue 2nd hand dishwasher. The tape is rubbish ..... I'll degreesed and dryed prior to just falls off. Thought that it wouldn't stick 😂

The metal plates at the top are normally for screwing the dishwasher to the under side of the worktop. If it's a stone worktop, there are holes (usually with caps) on the sides at the front to screw the dishwasher to the side cabinets on both sides. A tip for when adjusting the rear foot is to try & take the weight off the rear foot by tilting the appliance slightly forwards while turning the screw as the screw & connecting tod are plastic & easily broken/stripped. Finally, the door fixing kit usually comes with 2 metal brackets that screw onto the decco door & hook into the dishwasher door at the bottom, while side brackets that screw onto the sides of the decco door are held in place by adjusting screws (behind plastic caps) on either side of the dishwasher door.

I work in white goods & come across these all the time. The metal plates can be removed if you're not going to use them - it can save sore fingers!
