Thank you for your help, my belt came off, it is in good condition so with your video was able to put it back on.

You're awesome!!! Now I don't have to order flat wrenches online to remove a bolt in a tight space in order to reposition my elliptical's drive belt. I had no idea it could be realigned simply by turning the wheel, this info will come in handy in the future. Many thanks!!!!

Thank you for that. I had just been helping a friend fit a belt. No where near happy. Then, I thought of the flip side for extra tension and came across your reassuring video

A good video as far as it goes but a few extra pointers for replacing a belt. take a few picks and maybe a simple drawing of the belt route. On the right hand wheel (resistance wheel) half slacken the small tension setting nuts (10mm) both sides. Remove completely the nut and adjuster near the belt side. Slacken both resistance wheel hub nuts ( 15mm), removing the one nearest the belt. Moving the resistance wheel rearwards to slacken the belt. Remove the old belt. place the new belt ( ribbed grooves inwards) over the LH flywheel, and on the RH side, pull the resistance wheel out of its seating just enough to be able to feed the belt over the nearside centre hub bolt. *the wheel is HEAVY, but manageable one handed. ( I did not find it necessary to undo the adjuster cable). push the resistance wheel back onto its mounting, noting to replace any washers properly. Feed onto all wheels pulleys as in the video. Put back the nearside resistance wheel hub nut and tighten both sides but not enough to lock in position. Adjust the tensioners equally (10mm) in order to give about 1cm of give in the longest belt run. Turn the flywheel a few times to ensure the belt is running free and is central on all pulleys. Tighten both resistance wheel hub nuts fully, and retest the belt tension. Give the flywheel a few turns in both direction to check everything looks/sounds ok. Optional - reconnect the pedals and give it a functional test to make sure the resistance levels are working and all seems good, before replacing all the covers. Good idea to clean the inside and maybe oil the flywheel bolt too? This was on My Aldi crane eliptical which had lasted me about 15 years before developing a clunk and intermittent drop in resistance due to a slipping belt ( had a 2" patch worn through to the internal copper strands). A £15.49 belt ( 460J6 Dunlop Poly V Belt (1168J6)) from www.bearingboys.co.uk saved a couple of hundred for a new machine.

What is that metal rod handle thing that you were holding onto ? No way to get cover back on when that thing is sticking out there.
