Glad I subscribed recently! I swapped from tan cloth to a full black leather set into my cabby and realized... I could run heated seats if I get the wiring and switch! This video proves how easy it is haha. Thanks! Keep it up👍🏼

Excellent video, what about adjustable headlights level, i have a VW MK3 GOLF GTI 2.0L 8V, the headlights do have the motors attached but there is no wiring and no scroll wheel on the headlight switch, is it the same as seats ? (just run the wires and replace the headlight switch with the scroll wheel for headlights level ?)

Thanks, I'd have to look into that as I'm not sure. I know the headlight loom is seperate but don't know if you need extra wiring

My experience with the Recaro leather seats is that the leather breaks so quickly, much too weak. Is it not?

You have to remember the leather is over 25 years now do it's expected to wear. Mainly people don't look after leather so it goes bad

Got two questions, hope you can answer. Connectors go to fuse box, right? So, every Golf MK3 should be able to install heated seats? Also, I already re-did my current seat with brand new covers, so my idea was to transfer everything to those used GTI seats with heated element. Should I be able to do that? Any difference between GTI and standard seats?

No they go into a coloured multi pin block near the clocks. The bolsters and different to base seats but I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to use gti

Super video! great help. I just hope you can get me in the right direction here.... 1998 mk3.5 cabrio. factory heated seats, not working. Lights on the control light up when switched on. Wiring is properly connected. There are, like you said, no fuses to check. What can I do? Replace the relais under the seat? Or could it be something else??

Your welcome dude! So when you turn the switch on does it click? There could be a fault in the heated elements, I've seen a few where they get hot and snap which breaks the circuit

Try the relay first dude and go from there. Does neither seat work? Be strange if they both went down at the same time as they have seperate relays under the seats

@@Project7YT neither works. No. Bit more info: 1998 car with factory heated seats. Swapped them for beige leather with heathed seats from a 1996 car. Wires on the driver side/car are original, pass.side are cut out and remade by me. Swapped both seats to the other side of the car, to try both wire sets, switched both relais. Got one seat working! (Pass.seat, with driver relais on driver side original wires)

I think so I'm not 100% sure. You can get them from mk3 golf breakers on Facebook marketplace
