This is the third iteration of our best-selling buckle system, the ZULUDIVER OctoPod Mark 3.
What is different compared to the previous versions? The design is more refined, and the buckle is even more compact while still offering 100% compatibility with our OctoPod watch strap range.
The buckle ends are smaller, the bars are thinner, and the overall length is about 5% shorter than the previous version. The new OctoPod buckle has smoother edges and corners, so it’s more comfortable on the wrist. It also features a recessed etched logo for a more premium feel.
Currently, the OctoPod comes in two sizes, twenty millimetres and twenty-two millimetres. Still, we have six types of finishes - brushed and polished, full mirror polish, sandblasted, black, antique bronze and gold.
The variety of finishes and sizes should cover most types of watches. We also have a variety of straps for the Octopod buckle system, which have a multitude of colours and patterns as well as different materials and textures. Look on our website for the right buckle and strap combo for you.
But before you head over to ZULUDIVER.com, we need to show you how to fit a strap to your buckle if you’ve never done it before.
You can start threading the material from the top or the bottom; the process is fundamentally the same. Let’s start from the twelve o’clock side.
Take the buckle and generously thread the material in through the first gap. Then, make a loop and thread it back through the third gap. You need to make a loop again and bring the material through the middle gap. Then, take the strap and thread it back through the first gap. Pull through the material, and you’re done.
Take the watch head and thread the strap through the spring bars. In this case we start from the six o’clock side.
Then you need to push the watch head to the finished side so you can do the other half of the OctoPod buckle.
Start threading the material through the top gap. Then, make a loop and go through the third gap. After making another loop with the material, you need to come out from the middle gap and then thread the strap back again through the first gap.
You can now slide the watch head in the middle of the nylon strap and try it on your wrist.
If the fitting is a bit loose or tight, you will need to make some micro-adjustments to get it just right, especially if you have a more rigid material. The elastic straps are more forgiving as they stretch out a bit.
That’s how you fit the new OctoPod buckle system to your favourite watch! Head over to ZULUDIVER.com and get your OctoPod buckle today!

I have both this newest version and the previous MK2 version. Huge difference! The newer is shorter, more narrow, and without sharp edges. Yhe only downside is that it's more difficult to put the last angle of the strap beneath.

Just ordered a buckle and 3 straps. Shipping Took 3 days from UK to California. Installation is quick, about 90 seconds. I install the buckle first and then add the watch, then micro adjustment. A great product, however, perhaps a bit overpriced.

My main reservation vs regular and nato is a strap change will be way slower.

Your straps don't thread very well. When you get to the last step of looping the strap around the first buckle and then pushing it through, the strap gets caught. The problem is that the space between the buckles isn't wide enough for the strap to get through. So the experience is like trying to push a piece of rope through a tiny hole. And if you try to force the strap through enough times, the ends feel like they'll start to fray. You've got to make the strap ends a little thinner so that you can fish it through the buckle without resistance.

Like the look of the Octopod but the Zuludiver branding on the buckle means I wouldn't use this.
