I've been searching for a detailed video to do this same task for weeks. My wife's 2011 kia soul with 164k, purchased new in 2011 with minimal problems is now starting to show its age. I really appreciate you showing step by step where the bolts go. I'm now confident that i can do this repair.

This video is a life saver. Even for being a girl with no mechanical experience I was able to do it. It was only 17 degrees here today where I live so I really needed the heat working. Thanks for taking the time to film this.

Your video is the most helpful on KZbin on step-by-step resistor and blower motor replacement, especially the tips on which tools you need before you begin, the tip on putting the screws back on the posts they came from (extremely smart and helpful tip), showing all the steps and explaining the pitfalls (I dropped a bunch of screws and had to use a magnetic tool to fish them out even if I tried to be careful about it). LOL you kept apologizing for the noise - it wasn't that loud and it was easy to hear you and see what and how you were doing what you were doing. Taking all that crap apart and loosening bolts takes way longer than putting it all back together. Thanks to your video I was able to replace my own motor and resistor instead of going to the dealer and paying for 6 hours of labor and overpriced parts. I'd never done this type of thing before but I took my time and the result was success, again, thanks to your complete rundown of the process.

You have the best video out that explains the process. Also never thought about putting the screws back so they never get lost, or in the wrong spot. Replacing my blower today and have viewed this video many of times. Thank you, your video is greatly appreciated.

Great video and thank you for making this. I’m going to change these parts out with the help from you making this detailed video. While i have it apart i’m also going to change the rubber steering wheel coupler that went bad.

This has to be one of the dumbest designs in all of vehicle history. Lmao who in the hell thought it was a good idea to put that there….. I compliment the hell out of you for making a DIY video on this. I could never 🤣😭😭😭

Haven’t found a video that shows also how to dismantle that grey box under the wheel which is power steering module kinda essential to get to the pedals and to create space.Other then that nice video.

Excellent video. You mentioned in the video about some of the tools needed but would you mind listing the tools needed so i can have them ready please? Im not mechanically inclined but with your video i think i can save myself a huge repair bill doing it myself.

All you need is a socket set (deep well socket) Philips head and flat head screw driver, and I also used a impact drill to save some time getting the nuts off

@@Randopic76 thanks. do you happen to know the kia part numbers for the resistor and blower?

I’m sorry I don’t but I just bought at the auto parts and hope it matched up with the one I took off.

Thanks for this! Very wise screwing the screws back in. That's always my fear, where do all these screws and bolts go back? Or even misplacing them or dropping them behind something. I have a magnet extension which will come in handy for any potentially dropped screws or bolts. My blower relay needs to be replaced. It overheated and is the housing partly melted...hense why the blower suddenly stopped working. I'll already replaced the relay with another one of the same fun the fuse box to test it, and the blower started working again. However, my question is, what caused the relay overheat in the first place? It's possible that the blower and/or the resistor isn't working correctly, getting old and worn out and is possibly working harder and drawing too much current, causing the delay to overheat. Although, the relay is original, 10 years old, and the day it fried, it was 37 degrees celsius. I bought 2 relays in case the relay gets cooked again. If it does, I'll replace the blower motor and resistor. It's recommended to replace both at the same time since they function closely together. If either component isn't functioning as expected, it can cause damage to either component (blower and resistor).

Sometime just with age they go out, the only thing that was wrong with mine was the blower and since the resistor was accessible I decided to just change while everything was taken apart. Thanks for watching.

Great Video! Just one question. Why do you put your screws back?
@Randopic76 Жыл бұрын
So you know where they go and don’t lose them.

How did you take the connector off the blower motor. My is not coming off?
@Randopic762 жыл бұрын
The connection was hard but you just have to squeeze really hard but you have to be careful not to break it.
