Thanks for the video. I had the exact same issue and wanted to let people know that 1) The resistor on a 2013 Kia Forte was more conveniently located and was facing the front of the car, rather than tucked off to the side. The resistor looks the same as in the video, but the location was a few inches to the right on our car. 2)The resistor for a manual climate control Kia Forte cost $35 at AutoZone (automatic climate control would be 3x as expensive). 3) The blower resistor on our car blew most likely due to water backed up from a clogged evaporator tube (the tube that drains water to the outside of your car when you are running the AC) that was dripping into the cabin and sloshing around in the air vent. So, save yourself the stress, time, money of repair and keep an eye on the underside of your car when running the AC. Make sure you see a drip of water. If you never see water and you've been running the AC, look up a video on cleaning out the AC evaporator tube. I pulled off the panel just to the left of this resistor, unhooked the rubber tube, and shot some compressed air down the tube while plugging the rest of the tube opening with my finger. That did the trick for the clogged tube. Most recommend going underneath the car and shooting air UP the tube, but you run the risk of pushing an obstruction further up the tube that way.

No need to buy a new resister for $70. Just resolder that fuse strip with “60/40” solder. Those fuse strips are designed to melt at 185 degree celsius plus or minus 5 degree celsius. 60/40 lead solder gives that protection.

This worked for my 2010 Kia Forte. The Air would not work on 3&4... Only 1&2. I changed this piece out.. It was 30 bucks at autozone. Took me 2 minutes to replace, turned car on and BOOM! FULL MAX COLD AIR BLOWIN LIKE I WAS SITTIN IN ANTARCTICA!!! 🤣🤣🤣✌🏾

Just done cleaning my blower blade, after reattaching it i try to test it then the fan wouldn't start to spin at number 1 speed, all the speed from 2 to 4 does work. Before this it all worked but now there is the problem. Do you think it is the resistor?

Question idk if you'll see it but, my fan is a aftermarket fan in my kia rio lx '17 would u know why? The dealership told me itd be near 1k to fix but nah too much

Mine only works for speed 1 and 2. On 3 and 4 it stops. Would it be the speed controller or the reciptor any ideas.

Check your cabin air filter abd check the voltage at the blower motor on different speed
