Best finger saving video! All the way down released the spring tension. Thanks! Worked on my 89 Bronco and it bit me twice!

Thanks! This is the first KZbin video that begins to address the removal of the regulator, and how to defeat the cocked springs so you don't hurt yourself.

@@FarmerJim Where did the round rollers come from? I have seen only square rollers as replacements. Further, my square rollers are pressed onto the arms (not bolted). Not easy to replace, so I just cleaned and lubed them. Tyler

They were there when I opened it. Not sure if they are original

It wasn't too bad to repair. It's a really heavy window and the motor in it struggles over time. I hope it goes smoothly and you retain so your digits.

Long time glass guy here. I have done a bunch of these and it's much easier to just take the whole regulator out and clean it up and relube while doing the motor. If you take it out and have the motor in hand, it's much easier to find the correct motor.

Seems easy enough!

I know it’s been years but I removed the arms and motor out the back, the motor will turn with power but acts like it’s not able to move once it’s in twin with the arms. Is that reason to replace it or am I missing something?

Looks like you ran into the same problem I had. They gave me the side window motor instead of the tailgate motor. Tailgthrate motor has a round body and the 3 bolt holes match up properly on the regulator.
